The 3070 isn't a deal at $499.

Demand is incredibly weak, there is new oversupply with artificial restrictions by Nvidia to keep prices high, the used market is flooding with miner gpus, AMD competition is stiffening, all while 4XXX series is about to drop and drown everything else.

Given that, paying $500 for a 3070 is ludicrous. I'd pay $299. Anything more than that and you're likely looking at a value retention bloodbath in short order.

3070 ti was as low as $450 recently, widely available on the front page. Unless you *need* both the card and the monitor, this isn't much of a deal. Even then, not really a deal as the monitor is meh.

Also, f*ck Newegg

Awesome deal. The last 3070 that went frontpage (EVGA XC3) was $499. So it's like getting a frontpage deal on the GPU and adding the monitor for $100.

But this post and my reply will inevitably be downvoted to oblivion because h0dL and f*ck Newegg.

I don't need any monitor, $100 off that price would be great

Bad monitor, pixel response time is really slow. Black smear across the screen everywhere during movement. Save your money Hold the Line. Don't try to save $100 just to have a miserable time for the next couple years you use this thing. In a month and a half you will see Samsung G5 equivalents for $200 good motion. And 3070s for 400..

I think everyone's tired of the GPU price inflation shell game that happened for the past 5 years, and I'm pretty sure almost everyone's over Newegg's "daily deals", rebates, and garbage bundles. I hate to say it, because Newegg was my go to online, computer parts retailer for about 15 yrs straight, but I haven't purchased anything from them in years. Newegg just seems really irrelevant to me in 2022, especially if you're lucky enough to have a Microcenter B&M store nearby.

Seems decent on paper but seeing the comment that the monitor is meh and it's just MSRP for the last gen, I'll pass. Thank you, OP!

These GPUs will come down much more soon after ethereum shuts off miners this week and the market will flood with their nasty gpus and melted thermal pads.

F Newegg > Hold the line

But yea to both lol

Either way, these combo deals in general is a precursor to what they will eventually sell these separately in a few weeks. So $400 for the gpu and $200 for the monitor is normal price

Here's a 1440p, 165hz IPS 31.5" monitor for $200 not too long ago
https://slickdeals.net/f/15992896-31-5-hp-x32-2560x1440-qhd-165hz-1ms-ips-freesync-gaming-monitor-200-free-shipping?src=SiteSearch

And here's a 3070 for $450 not too long ago either
https://slickdeals.net/f/16003162-msi-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3070-ti-ventus-3x-oc-8gb-gddr6-graphics-card-450-free-curbside-pickup?src=SiteSearch

They're doing these combo because demand is low so they're trying to get rid of things that aren't selling fast enough LMAO

Oh yea, and HOLD DA LINEEEE lol.. and f newegg. But shh secretly I like competition, so don't f newegg toooo much lol

Here comes my downvoted comment. People have been making these kind of statements for months and get free upvotes from those wanting prices to go down further and anybody who gives an alternate view gets downvoted.

In the end, every bit Nvidia drips the prices of these cards lowers the value of the 4 series. They are not going to sell a 3070 for $300.

I bought a 3080 ti a few weeks ago that was downvoted twice and here we are weeks later and the prices are higher than I paid.

If you want to wait and see what happens because you aren't worried about it, more power to you.

But if you are waiting for simply a $300 3070, IMO you will be disappointed. Prices will come down more, but not enough to justify waiting months.

Card prices stratify by performance. Nvidia isn't undercutting 4XXX prices by lowering 3XXX when they'll be far superior, and the market won't sustain astronomical prices on 4XXX. It is not unreasonable to expect 3070s to hit $300. You can ask premiums for everything when supply is limited AND demand is off the charts. That isn't the case anymore.

Nvidia has admitted to playing supply games with 3XXX to combat oversupply and avoid price crashes and taking a bath on them...but that only works so much, and they can't control the used market which is beginning to flood with miner cards. Supply is only half the equation anyways. Everyone knows it was miners driving inventories to zero and prices through the stratosphere. Demand is destroyed with the ethereum merge and crypto down market. RDNA3 is going to give Nvidia stiff competition and will also release soon, so they can't delay 4XXX too long. They can't ask super premiums for 4XXX because demand is incredibly weak, at the same time supply is in surplus both used and new, and competition is fierce. Nvidia is in a trick bag. I said this MONTHS ago, and behold...people were saying the EXACT same things you just did trying to self soothe after having just been gouged, yet prices continued tumbling all the same, as though economics is a real thing independent of their emotions about their purchase.

So you bought a card last week and now it's higher. That is the definition of sampling error and means absolutely nothing in the big picture. What does mean something? Months of price data and trends, explicit statements from the company's CEO, and economics in light of the state of the market.

No one will buy if he knows the price keeps dropping and there are plenty of choices in the market. Literally, the used market will explode when Ether is merged, and the hot inflation is going to eat up all discretionary spending.
