The 3070 isn't a deal at $499.

Demand is incredibly weak, there is new oversupply with artificial restrictions by Nvidia to keep prices high, the used market is flooding with miner gpus, AMD competition is stiffening, all while 4XXX series is about to drop and drown everything else.

Given that, paying $500 for a 3070 is ludicrous. I'd pay $299. Anything more than that and you're likely looking at a value retention bloodbath in short order.

3070 ti was as low as $450 recently, widely available on the front page. Unless you *need* both the card and the monitor, this isn't much of a deal. Even then, not really a deal as the monitor is meh.

Also, f*ck Newegg

Awesome deal. The last 3070 that went frontpage (EVGA XC3) was $499. So it's like getting a frontpage deal on the GPU and adding the monitor for $100.

But this post and my reply will inevitably be downvoted to oblivion because h0dL and f*ck Newegg.

production aside (and if you use graphic card for production, then the only thing you should care is your profit vs cost).

but purely as gaming apparatus...
keep in mind that for the MOST part since gaming was a thing, top end graphic card cost as much as game console.

when graphic card cost 800 dollars, one question you have to ask is that does that one graphic card give me more entertainment value than two consoles? does running 4k 120 really worth the extra 1000 dollar than 2k 60?

Call me a newbie, but why do so many people hate newegg in this thread? Newegg is not as good as several years before, but what have it done to make despicable?

Love people's input so would love to hear what the community has to say regarding the following

1) will people frantically start selling last gen cards out of fear that the next gen is going to be so much better? (the debacle from 30 series being released)

2) jays2cents (youtuber) analyzed a report from Nvidia which said the prices are going to be manipulated to stay at the current level with stock manipulation. Although Nvidia probably hasn't included the second market that might soon blow up, wouldn't this mean that the prices will most likely stay stagnant?

For those with the "VA must mean terrible response times and black smear". https://www.rtings.com/monitor/re...byte/g27qc

Is IPS better for response time and viewing angles sure, but the contrast sucks and this monitor has pretty good response time.

I love these video card posts now. First you get the people telling every one to wait as prices will continue to fall. Then you have the people who say those people are wrong and prices won't go any lower.

Yet day after day, week after week the prices keep going down, and the 40 series aren't even here yet. Guess who's been right all along!
Nobody said prices would not go any lower...

It's way easier to argue with a made up argument.

Supply and demand. Stores: Would you plea stop calling us, we out of these cards and it will cost you $1000 when available. The same store keeps calling us: Hello, we have these cards in stock at msrp price.
Most: Ugrr..inflation..no thanks!
Stores: Free monitor, watever on top of that.
People: Fine! I'll bite on it.

Seriously? I've spent tens of thousands on GPUs and dumped nearly all of them months back for a super premium when people like you weren't listening to people like me trying to help Facepalm

I'd buy again if they were a good value, but they aren't. Juvenile meaningless BS like yours contaminates these forums. Despite that, I've continued posting, and have continued being right, because it isn't magic, it is reality.

You can't help those that won't help themselves.
I think your dribble is meaningless. I too have spent 10s of thousands on GPS and computer equipment. Why in the world anyone would want to listen to anything you say is beyond ne

Lol the Eth Merge has begun and this Thursday it will be fully initiated. Why buy now? CPI data is crushing markets and coin. NVidia is dropping their 4xxx series cards in Q4. TSMC told AMD and NVIDIA to eat the millions of chips they ordered (out of greed) when they were trying to back out. Why buy at the top?

Card prices stratify by performance. Nvidia isn't undercutting 4XXX prices by lowering 3XXX when they'll be far superior, and the market won't sustain astronomical prices on 4XXX. It is not unreasonable to expect 3070s to hit $300. You can ask premiums for everything when supply is limited AND demand is off the charts. That isn't the case anymore.

Nvidia has admitted to playing supply games with 3XXX to combat oversupply and avoid price crashes and taking a bath on them...but that only works so much, and they can't control the used market which is beginning to flood with miner cards. Supply is only half the equation anyways. Everyone knows it was miners driving inventories to zero and prices through the stratosphere. Demand is destroyed with the ethereum merge and crypto down market. RDNA3 is going to give Nvidia stiff competition and will also release soon, so they can't delay 4XXX too long. They can't ask super premiums for 4XXX because demand is incredibly weak, at the same time supply is in surplus both used and new, and competition is fierce. Nvidia is in a trick bag. I said this MONTHS ago, and behold...people were saying the EXACT same things you just did trying to self soothe after having just been gouged, yet prices continued tumbling all the same, as though economics is a real thing independent of their emotions about their purchase.

So you bought a card last week and now it's higher. That is the definition of sampling error and means absolutely nothing in the big picture. What does mean something? Months of price data and trends, explicit statements from the company's CEO, and economics in light of the state of the market.
Miner gpu flood is greatly exaggerated. Only an idiot would wait until now to sell off their GPU farm. Depending on miners to be stupid as a justification for cheap-as-chips GPU's is not intelligent. Further, miner polls indicate that 48% of miners will continue to mine "at a loss" since they can afford to foot the power cost. Bottom line, if mining other algorithms is remotely profitable, your cheap-as-chips utopia will end in tears.

So I have been to Microcenter today and saw this monitor (in size 32") and it was not very appealing.

Also their Rep convinced me that curved monitors should be reserved for bigger screens.

I'm glad to see these GPU prices come down. Remember 2020-2021?

Pepperidge Farm remembers. Pepperidge Farm overspent on his 3080.
