About the game:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge reunites Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael as they kick shell in a bodacious, beautifully realized side scrolling beat 'em up invoking the Turtles' legendary 1987 design and paying homage to classic TMNT games like Turtles In Time.
This is a fun game, played with my kids and they enjoyed it as well. It's available on X BOX game pass if anyone is interested
It's a beat 'em up. You walk from left to right with a limited set of strikes and grabs until you reach the end, where you face a boss with a special mechanic.
Perhaps you don't remember The Arcade Game, Manhattan Project, or Turtles in Time. They're all repetitive. They were made to eat up quarters in an arcade and Shredders Revenge is the same.
Was going to mention this as well. Lots of fun, if I didn't have it there I'd probably jump on this deal. If you liked the old school arcade's this is good mindless, yet monotonous fun.

Raph, no question. Did you see the way she looked at him in the original 1991 film? They almost made the turtle with two shells if you know what I mean.
He was on his deathbed… of course she wanted him then
Buddy, I have the vintage (not the cheap Arcade 1UP thing) TMNT Arcade Game and Turtles in Time game at home. Don't lecture me on what a side-scroller is.
I didn't view that as a lecture, but a nod to your "repetitive" comment. Which this game is. Just like the '90s titles were.
I had a love/hate relationship with the og TMNT on Nintendo. I spent countless quarters (and SNES Blockbuster rentals) on Turtles in Time at the arcade. I was excited when I stumbled on Shredders Revenge. I got this game on the Switch a several weeks ago to play with my kids. You know, show them how games were back when they were good 😄. And it can't be too bad; I've found all three of them playing it on their own without me.
If you're just looking for a bit of fun nostalgia this game oozes it. The play, the art, the soundtrack. It's all there. You're right back at the arcade, minus the quarters. Twenty bucks? Do it.
Lifelong TMNT fan. This isn't a terrible game, but the hype it received doesn't match the reality. It's a decent but buggy and repetitive game. Worth a co-op play through, but they threw as many characters in as they possibly could to satisfy everyone's nostalgia, and the result is a slapdash affair that tries so hard to pay homage to the old games that it often ends up feeling, ironically enough, a bit soulless. $20 is a fair price, but I really had been hoping for a better game.
At least it was what it was shown to be, unlike alot of other games being released today and was alot of fun. Most side scrollers are nothing too deep but a fun beat em up

I agree and I'm also a lifelong TMNT fan. It's not bad at all but it's a short game and it's very repetitive. Maybe that was fine when I was a kid but today I could probably only really enjoy this if it's local co op with another person who is into TMNT. And even then I don't think we'd get more than a few hours out of it. Doesn't deserve the extremely high ratings it got.
I'm glad these kind of games still exist but I hope if they do another one they add more to it. This is worth a play but I wouldn't pay $20 for it. River City Girls may not have the nostalgia factor but I'd say it's a better beat-em-up than this
If you like old school beat em ups , get this . I hear people saying it's just ok and it's repetitive, but what did you expect it's an old school style beat em up .....lol. fun game
I'm torn! I love all the previous console arcade versions, and all the positive reviews and everything I'm reading about it (repetitive beat em up gameplay, swath of characters and settings, sprite graphics and animation) sound awesome to me. But I'm also reading the commenters here who sound just like me but still didn't like the game?? I hardly ever spend 20 bucks on a game so what do I believe??

Y'all ever think you just grew up and games as simple as this aren't as appealing especially comparing what modern games look and play like? You have to evaluate it compared to the time piece it was created in honor of. Repetition was literally the definition of those games so idk how you can use that as a derogative based on the genre/play style.
Great game. Bought it at full price and it's worth trying. The online matchmaking makes it easy to play the mission through with friends. Even if you don't have three other people to play with, the game will match make you with others. Just your progress won't be saved if you do online matchmaking.

I always thought it was Michaelangelo but he was too immature 😂

Probably won't happen, but I can dream. Scott Pilgrim will do nicely until then!
Leo. She was digging him in the original TMNT movie. Raph a close second.
I hope it does
