I'm pretty good at getting these products tuned to have a JBL soundstage
My settings for my motion boom plus pair are:
+5 +3 -7 -6 -5 -4 0 +1 +2
70 150 300 600 1.2k 2.5k 5k 9k 14khz
And for my motion boom pair:
+5 +3 0 -6 -5 -1 +2 +4 +6
This speaker can NOT be touched by anything in this price or size/weight range. It's extremely loud and has good bass at low-mid volumes. Will crush a JBL Extreme in overall sound if that is important to you.
Yes, the Tribit Stormbox Blast is louder/better, but also weights well over twice as much and is so large it's not even portable for smaller people.

Hey friend, I believe you are referring to the "Soundcore Select Pro" , similar to the "Motion Boom." I think it's a great speaker for outside ...especially for that price
I also got in on that deal from Walmart and was wondering if anybody compared the Select Pro to the Motion Boom Plus , and whether or not it was worth it to buy the Motion Boom Plus considering I already have the Select Pro.

SO, I just received this speaker via the $135 slickdeal about an hour ago. Speakers do generally have a break in period, so I'm keeping that in mind. I'm currently listening to a Dave Mathews Band live concert.
As a bluetooth speaker, it does sound good. It does not sound as warm or filling as a Bose Speaker. It does have better high end than a JBL Speaker. The bass sounds tighter than Bose and JBL. If you like jazz bass, you'll probably prefer this over JBL. If you like Rap bass or Rock Bass, I would say that the JBL has a slight edge, but at the cost of muffled highs.
Now all of this being said, it's a bluetooth speaker in a plastic box like the rest of them. This is never going to replace a true speaker setup with larger drivers and wood cased woofer sections, not ever close. But as a bluetooth speaker goes, it does sound pretty good.
Wishes that it had NFC pairing, Wishes the Passive Radiators were behind metal grills. You'll get the most out of it if you use the EQ in your phone to tailor the sound to your liking. It does put out a lot of sound, but, again, it's still a bluetooth speaker.
To my ears Bose still makes the best sounding bluetooth speakers, but they are not as rugged. I'm happy with my purchase. I bet I will like it even more as the drivers break in to warm up the sound.
I appreciate that response ... for my purposes I will stick with my Select Pro. A couple tweaks of the EQ and it sounds great outside !

I tried it but it pulls out way too much of the vocals. Appreciate the share though.

Thanks! It does sound great with these setting. This was an amazing deal. Wish I would have bought 2.

If it's a park or beach in the city, that's fine... But if someone brings that to a national park or a hike where there's suppose to be peace and quiet, I'm ripping that off from that person and throwing it off a cliff
