Well this sucks. I managed to find 8 of them unopened in the box up above the shelves at my local Home Depot. These are NOT 4 packs. They are sold individually, not in packs of 4. They are $26 per bulb. I managed to get the manager to see the mistake was on their part because the website said 4 pack, but she would not sell them at that price. She did sell them to me at a 50% discount, so I got 8 bulbs for a little over $100.

I was happy with that and headed home. I got one out and began the pairing, until I realized something. I did not take the time to note that these are "WIZ" technology, and not "Hue" bulbs. They do not work with Hue setups. Since my entire house is Hue tech, I am returning them tomorrow.

This is not accurate. They are sold as individual units. The website description is wrong. You can also check this yourself by looking at the actual box image on the website. It is a single A23 bulbs in the box. They are shipped and packed in a brown box that contains four units to be sold individually, once at the store, they are taken out of the brown box. This is not a 4 pack.

These have been around for a while. I've seen them in some stores for the last few years. The price is probably a little inflated, because they're definitely cheaper than the Hue line.
Confirmed at my local Home Depot to be a brand new item. They even show up in the system with a "No home location" designation, which means they have not even been assigned a spot on the shelf. The tech is not new, these bulbs at Home Depot is.

This is a one pack listed as a four pack. Denied Oroville California store manager.

Yep - it should be this price for just a 1 pack - I was able to get 4 from a store in Missouri - it took a while for someone to find them for me (these weren't on any shelves, they only had 1 packs of the 100W and smaller versions on the shelves) and i expect this will be fixed soon (And may be why they weren't on the shelves yet but 100W and other versions are). But it was 4 retail boxes in a "case of 4" - but not a retail case, just meant to be opened and each individual bulb placed on the shelf (and every other size are *only* sold individually - no 4 packs of these type regardless of lumens/watts).

But it says 4-pack in at least 3 different locations in the app that I could see (and I'm not sure about how it shows on the the inventory from their side) but either way they told me it's an error —but their error — so they did honor the price just a few minutes ago. **So a huge YMMV**

But the person said they can't ring up all 4 and override the price because there is a $50 limit for what they could adjust and this difference is higher than that, so they just rang up one, and wrote on the receipt that this was for a case of 4 and due to a pricing error.

I went to the store open the package with the same barcode and conversed with the manager. No case. Individual bulb. Website wrong.

Can someone with hands-on experience comment on the white color quality or lack thereof?

Also note, these are 150W bulbs and about 1/3 bigger (and heavier) than standard A19 (standard) sized light bulbs.
I was able to swing by the Home Depot and they honored the price. The bulbs are ridiculously large and won't fit in all lamps with shades. The pairing was easy and the app is easy too. The white temps and dimmer work well and on par with Hue. The downside is the 2.4 Wi-Fi

Disappointing news here regarding the pricing / packaging. However, for those unfamiliar with the current market I'd highlight that a "dumb" 150W commodity LED lamp is priced at $11 [homedepot.com].

A color-tunable smart version packaged by a "premium" brand coming in at around double isn't an extraordinary difference.

Good luck!
Jon

I like the WiZ products. They're easy to use and better than TP-LINK and Phillips Hue.
Maybe for the price, but I don't see any other way Wiz can be better than Hue. I have about a dozen hue and 3 dozen wiz bulbs, so obviously I still buy them.

Dead? (even though it was never really alive, just wont product listing)
Brickseek shows no results, and HD website shows "The product you are trying to view is not currently available." with no pic or info of actual product. Looks like they are fixing the listing.

Though it definitely appears HomeDepot has removed the product from the app/website, I'll post some quick thoughts after picking up a 4pk yesterday. I've previously used bulbs from Hue, TP-Link, Sylvania, and S-en-gled (SD appears to hate that word), but I hadn't tried WiZ before this:
  • Yes, they work with Home Assistant. Either auto-discovery or manually-entered IP address. You'll likely want to use a DHCP reservation to give it a consistent IP address, though the WiZ app doesn't seem to care.
  • They do require a 2.4GHz WiFi network, so that's one more thing to clog up that band.
  • The WiZ app does NOT require you to create an online account, though it does appear it auto-registers the device with their cloud service during setup.
  • Local communication is enabled by default (necessary for Home Assistant).
  • These bulbs are MUCH larger than standard A19/A21 bulbs, as others have mentioned.
  • They're super-bright compared to typical 800/1100 lumen bulbs (as advertised)
  • The rendering of orange is more yellow than Hue bulbs.
  • The rendering of purple is more washed out than Hue bulbs.
  • Switching between color and color-temperature modes momentarily turns the bulb off.
  • The bulb appears to have a default fade-off of a few seconds vs. turning off instantly; turning on or changing colors/modes seems to be almost instantaneous.
  • In Home Assistant, but bulbs do not support customizable transition times like Hue bulbs; thus, you can't fade on or between colors/modes.
  • They support the rgbww and color_temp modes; Hue bulbs support xy and color_temp
  • They do have a power-loss recovery feature so they can optionally return to their previous state after a power outage.
  • After a few hours' use, they seem pretty reliable/responsive. Need a longer evaluation period to get a better picture, though.

This is the first time I've tried the WiZ bulbs; so far, I'm impressed, particularly at the 75% off price point :-) Thanks OP!

We love the Wiz bulbs. We've almost swapped out all our Hue devices (~30 total bulbs). Don't know why people are complaining about "clogging" up WiFi. We have zero issues.
