I am thinking of going with a corded one for power and size 4-3/8" Wen for the same price. Anyone have experience with that vs this one, please share your thoughts.

Thanks

I can see power being an issue on larger wood. Honestly. Most people will use this when fitting a door to size or some other dedicated use.

I got warned for posting the link, but a quick search shows you can get the P611 Ryobi planer on Amazon for $53.50.

It's from kinda a sketchy third party, amazon price is same as HD.

Haven't tried this one, however, the massive power appetite of these tools would make me hesitant to buy cordless, unless it's very light work over short periods. I tortured an m18 planer while building a deck, has to plane down joist as I was using composite decking, the batteries lasted about 10 minutes tool time. Went with my trusty Makita corded and I was much happier.

I have the wen, it's great! No lack for power. Used it to smooth out some free rough cut lumber for multiple projects. You can select left or right chip discharge. I personally don't use the bag, as it's always outdoor work. It makes great wood chips too.
