Ok bear with me here... I know Kenmore isn't necessarily the greatest brand and usually just a re-branded unit by one of the other major companies. But we were in need of a new washer & dryer, preferred a matching set and a GAS dryer. In our area gas is not a popular option so hard to find "deals" locally and even online a lot of delivery windows are way out, like mid-November.
I could not find many reputable reviews on these models online but it looks like the original price for the washer & dryer were $1,300 EACH. Some customer reviews reference the set costing as much as $2,000 previously as well. We bought this at Costco two weeks ago for $1,099.97 and they have since lowered it another $100. We got the price match as we are inside the 30 days. Typically, .97 prices means clearance items at Costco. The set still shows available in my zip code for delivery this Friday the 7th. But I know that could be region specific henceforth the "YMMV" in the title.
Looks like Sears also has the washer on clearance for $499.88 & the dryer for $542.88 but delivery not available just local pickup. Costco is free delivery and hookup plus haul away if your old units are toast.
For the 2 year warranty, plus I think 2 extra years using the Costco Citi card, the typical Costco customer service AND 90 day return window which covers Black Friday season in case better deals come up it was worth a shot for us. And since we bought the set online I believe for returns Costco comes and picks them up if needed.
Thought I would post in case anyone else is in a similar boat and needs a new washer/dryer set quickly. Sorry for the long post but I always like to see more info than less on deal posts personally.
NOTE: When the delivery techs installed the gas dryer they apparently did not properly hook up or use the tape around the connection on the back. The next day my wife noticed rotten egg smell in the laundry room. We called our local gas company and they sent a tech who took reading and there was a leak. He fixed the issues but just a warning that Costco delivery guys may not be fully competent to work with natural gas.

Consumer Reports assigned the washer the same score as the related WT7900, in second place with an overall score of 83, with a score of 5 (top) in predicted reliability, washing performance and water efficiency and 4 in energy efficiency but only a 3 in gentleness (like most top-loaders) and noise. The dryer got the same rating as the related DLEX7900, with a 5 in reliability and a 4 for drying performance, convenience and noise, for an overall score of 87. I can confirm, this dryer looks identical to the whirlpool I just bought a couple weeks ago

Saw this too. Is the LG one better or this? I have solar panels at home and bought this because I'm at least generating some electricity at home?
