- NJ: When I did an in-store pickup of an online-order, tax was automatically calculated on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal). But when I did an in-store purchasing today, tax was calculated on (price - TIV_promo). According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

My Frisco store isn't processing online pickup ordered saying they are unable to get full trade in value for online orders.
Did you do online order pickup at Lewisville? Did they process it correctly?
Trade-in part was a bit weird. Sheet he gave me showed only $70 credit, but he said bonus would show in final order. Guess makes sense, since, bonus seems to be taken directly off price.

Initial charge on Thru, 10/12, for $620.98. Picked up Sat 10/15, took 10 min. Got $100 giftcard instantly via email. Refund for $343.20 showed up today Mon, 10/17.

I traded in a 6 that I bought for $220 net of tax. So adding that and the $100 BB gift card - which is as good as cash to me - the final cost after tax is $271, not accounting for all the 5% back I got. Not too shabby.
I paid via PayPal using my Chase Freedom so I'm curious to see how Chase handles this and whether they take back the extra 4% in points they had issued.
