- The $100 gift card is now included with the Pixel 7 in Snow, as of October 11.

Trade-in value notes:
- In states CA (please add more), tax is charged on (price - TIV_promo).
- In states NJ, NY, tax is charged on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal).
- NJ: When I did an in-store pickup of an online-order, tax was automatically calculated on (price - TIV_promo - TIV_normal). But when I did an in-store purchasing today, tax was calculated on (price - TIV_promo). According to the representative, this is because TIV_normal is processes as a GC and it has to be applied after the checkout, so the tax is charged on that part. Don't know if this is all true to CA or other states.

- I've done in-store trade-ins a few times at Best Buy. They only do a cursory look at the phone, to make sure it matches the color and condition. They don't care if it is carrier locked or is still being financed. -RonaldM

1. Go to the "Order Details" page for your order on bestbuy.com. This page likely says "Shipping Kit on its way" for the trade in status.
2. Open Developer Console in Chrome. Navigate to the "Networks" tab and reload the page.
3. Search for "trade" in the search box.
4. You should see 3 results - the third begins with "2002..." for me. Click on this one.
5. Click on "tradeInStatusInfo" -> "fulfillment" -> "tracking".
You will see the tracking number of the return shipping UPS label. You should also see a "isBoxShipped" field that likely reflects if your trade-in kit has shipped yet.

Trade-in total was divided into two parts: $300 promo part + $190 actual value part
Sales tax was on $599-$300=$299, so I paid $30.65
Total I paid was like $299+$30.65-$190=$139.65
Don't know why they have to separate the $300 and $190 part, and $190 is taxable.
You could return the P7Pro to the store, then have them setup a new order for you, with a P7Pro being shipped to your home. If you order instore, they can process the trade instore.

Now, the question is on the tradein. There are no phones in the Southeastern US (or at least 250 miles). So how can I fix this to take the phone back to the store? I thought if I bought the phone from bestbuy.com that I had to return it to BBY.com - since there is no option for instore pickup. Or will the instructions from BBY allow me to take it to the store as well? I'd much rather take it in than mail it off.
Thanks - and over 5000 posts! Wow!

How did everyone get the trade-in refund? Anyone has the same experience? First time trade-in in Best Buy, not familiar with their process.
I called best buy next day on Oct 14, spent about 4 hours on phone, got transferred multiple times, none of the representatives were really helpful. They all claimed that I need to go to the local store because the issue is related to trade-in. So tired of those bullshit, I drove to the store in the afternoon (Jesus, took 1.5 hours because of weekend traffic). In store, I spoke with the supervisor in Cell phone department, she positively told me that I picked up in the store, but it's still an online order, they can't modify anything for online order, you need to talk to online support. I had to call the online support on site with her, the representative still had no clue what happened. The supervisor said it may take few days coz they need to ship the trade-in phones to recycle center, my issue might be resolved automatically once the phone gets received in recycle center. I had to drive another 1+ plus hour back to home. My total wasted time is over 7+ hours.
I waited for few days and called online support again today. From the voice, can tell that's a young guy. Seem he understood fully what happened, but he can't approve it because the amount is too high ($250+tax) his permission limits to $100 or under. He submitted a ticket and told me it may take up to 7 days to get an answer.
Well, what a pain! Hopefully it can be resolved smoothly. And I am sure this is last time I do trade-in in best buy.
