Wirelessly, this maxes out at 7.5W on iPhone despite the implications, whether it is plugged in or not. But as a wired bank, it goes higher via USB C.

Personally, I love Apple's smaller MagSafe battery extender pack that has smart integrations like topping off the battery in more efficient range and it doubles as a 15W wireless MagSafe charger when plugged in. It's been on sale for $74 this month. That charger also maxes at 7.5W when used as a wireless battery on the go, but is a faster wireless charger when used at home unlike Anker's.

i bought this and 2 of apple's magsafe batteries.

the ankers are pretty thick, but if you have other devices you need to charge, anker is the way to go since it has USB-A and USB-C ports, but requires a button press and you need to look at the lights on the battery to see how much juice is left.

if you don't have other devices, absolutely go for the apple one. it's much better to just slap it on the iPhone and not worry about pressing any buttons or figuring out how much energy is left. you can plug in your iPhone to the charger and it'll charge both the battery and the iPhone.

Apple's MagSafe battery pack can not even charge an iPhone 14 Pro for a full run. 50% at most I believe. Any third party battery pack can do better.

Apple's is a battery extender, and very explicitly tells you it is programmed to work with iOS to keep iPhone in its most efficient range. It intentionally doesn't even charge moderately full phones past 90%, unless you request it via menu.

Apple's is more efficient due to how and when it charges. It can offer more time for its size than third party chargers due to the integrations.

You can get cheaper and bigger batteries like you suggest, but the features are not the same.
