Do yourself a favor and don't use this. 13.5LB of baking soda from Costco is around $6 and 1.3 gallons of vinegar is $3-4. It will last you a long time and you don't have to inhale all the chemicals found in these products

This works for simple clogs but it also can clog.

Repetitive use can cause damage.

I would use baking soda/vinegar then snake.

Lye can be dangerous if it gets stuck. The high heat will bust your pipes open.

People who believe in vinegar / baking soda clearing out drains is a special kind of dumb. If you're gonna go that route, just use a plunger.

Also, lye is dangerous and not recommended for drains, especially kitchen sink drains since people often pour down fats / oils. Why don't you want to use lye? Because it will react with oil / fats and turn into SOAP. And you don't want to turn something like fat / oil which can melt into a liquid into something like soap which is a solid through and through. I've heard of people using lye over the years, and eventually, their entire plumbing got backed up with solid soap all in their drains. They had to get the plumber to snake all that crap out. Also, don't pour HOT WATER doing the drain if you're doing pure lye. You will vaporize lye and it will become airborne. If you breathe that stuff in, it will irritate your eyes, lungs, and any other mucus membranes. If it's bad enough, you'll get 1st / 2nd degree burns.

And besides, lye just doesn't work. I've used it many times, didn't really do eff all.

Liquid plumr is more effective than this. Water drain was slow even after application of this.

First time ever I had to use it in bath tub some months ago, and didn't work at all. Eventually, heavy duty snake worked from down below pipelines. Home base use snake, I have never used, but will give that a try if I need to. These chemicals are also not good for environment and may end up in oceans killing sea life. Give baking soda/vinegar a try first. That may work wonders and are economical and eco friendly. If not that, then find snake some feet long and no reason it won't work.

Same here. I tried clipping a 10% off coupon from other products of J&J, but it won't take it at all, so seems like is no longer valid for it

These have NEVER worked for me. A snake and other methods are a lot more effective. How are these companies still in business? Because people are hopeful suckers hoping to fix their issue for $10 vs $300 calling a plumber. But now you've spent $310 now.
Lol I just bought the generic Walmart version for $5 worked like a charm waited 30m and then ran hot water and it flowing fast. Why would I ever spend $300? This was an idiotic comment. Doing the opposite of what you said saved me $300!
