Just stay away from sandisk, no sandisk device can survive from daily use more than 3 years.

Less than 1 year for me. I've already bought two of these drives

This USB drive is so bad that SanDisk should withdraw it from the market. There are two problem areas:

1. The all plastic construction will eventually shatter and leave shards in the USB port. If you read the reviews on Amazon, you will find this is a common failure. Hopefully you can remove without damaging the port.

2. The drives rapidly heat up in use, rendering them useless for managing and transferring large amounts of data. The drive runs hot all the time (perhaps due to the all plastic shell) but the heat increases immediately under any load. There is "protective" circuitry that suspends operation until the drive cools down. I found that after copying a couple of gigs of data, the drive would begin repeating a cycle of working for 10 -12 seconds and then shutting down for over a minute to cool off, before writing another burst of data for 10 -12 and then shutting down again.

The USB port I used on my laptop was flaky (no put intended) after the UltraFit shattered, either from having to dig out the remnants or the excessive heat generated.

The smaller capacities may have some value but the larger capacities like this 128GB are just disasters waiting to happen.

This runs much cooler if you use it in a usb 2.0 port or use a usb 2.0 extension to convert a 3.0 port. Of course that negates the speed advantage.

Apparently Amazon now seems to be changing how "Top Reviews" appear rather than actually being the most "helpful" review. If you check for the one star reviews, there is one by a "Deborah M. Smolinske" that says it all with over 2000 votes. That use to be the first review displayed for this POS, now it is buried down in the pile. Is Amazon now shilling for SanDisk?

These suck! Avoid the plastic tiny drives. They are slow and get so hot they melt and can destroy your USB in the process! Spend a little more for a better device. Samsung makes some nice tiny drives like these but metal and while they are twice the cost, you get what you pay for.
