Sound tech is very mature.
Do not get hooked into the idea that only new is better.
You can still go back and pick up amps from the 70's and 80's which will blow away a lot of what is made today.
Macintosh amps would be just one example.

Also, it is important to recognize the THX cert for what it is.
It involves no tech or hardware. It literally means that the setup was reviewed and deemed to be in the specs of what is required for the cert.

Now...is it an indication that the equipment is better sounding? Sure.
You are not likely going to get a THX cert from something that is junk and sounds it.

But if I were Klipsch...and I am trying to cut costs on an old standard for decades....while adding in something like Bluetooth, I might cut something like the THX cert. They do have to pay for every box sold with the THX cert on it if it is labeled as THX. Could they have also tried to cut other corners and these no longer sound as good? Maybe..but the cost of retooling, etc makes it just as possible that they just cut the cert to use that money towards something which is more of a sales feature for desktop speakers...like Bluetooth. And they left the rest the same because it is a design that requires no work or cost from them. Keep in mind, there are not likely a lot of people demanding their 2.1 computer speakers are THX and if they are, they know these have a history of that.

Lastly, while audiophiles can teach a lot, it is also VERY important not to get sucked down their rabbit holes.
You do not need to get very far into audio before even incremental better sound can cost thousands. And while this is not universal, oftentimes audiophiles become very snobbish about something even like these PC desktop speakers. And while I am sure that their PC speakers are fantastic, you will find that it is not priced comparative to something like this..and possibly only a marginal improvement.
Not that a PC should not sound good...but maybe you spend 20K for a listening room and just spend reasonable amounts on PC speakers.
On mine I can press the right knob (volume?) in and it disables Bluetooth. The blue LED turns white.
Was $50 last time, but at $59 still a good deal for a good pair of 2.1 speakers.

Annoying thing about these speakers is that they're always on though. There's no power switch on the control pod.

Great speakers but so annoying that there is no on/off switch. You have to unplug them.

Another annoying thing is, NO PROTECTION FOR THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION. Anyone close can just connect to it. I dont think it can steal your connection once your connected, its more like a first come first serve type of thing when you plug it on. BUT THIS DOES SOUND PRETTY GOOD. LOVE THE BASS

Ow it does have a jack so you could just use that for your primary sound source and not use the unprotected bluetooth

The controller can be swapped between these and the non Bluetooth. I did this in my garage as I don't need Bluetooth and the speakers are on a smart plug connected to a fire tv.

If you have never heard these before, you will be shocked at how good they sound and how loud they are, especially for $59 shipped.

I had the BT version in my bedroom when I lived in an apartment complex and I had someone connect to my speakers on multiple occasions, once was in the middle of the night while I was sleeping, scared the $h!t out of me. But if the audio plug is plugged into something it effectively disables/overrides the Bluetooth. Fantastic speakers for the price as well, I always recommend these to people

Someone commented that there have been 4 iterations of this. (Same person mentioned these were garbage). Weren't some of the ones in recent times THX certified? These don't seem to while adding Bluetooth. I've had the ones from back in the day and they've had the best price to performance though the tech is now "super old".

2.1 Bluetooth ????

Does this make a huge difference?

Asking because I always see 5.0 bluetooth, etc.
I am not familiar with all the bluetooth versions

THanks in advance

So you can turn off Bluetooth on these? I have avoided this speaker because I thought the Bluetooth stays on at all times. unless you pull the plug.

2.1 is referring to the speaker setup. 2 = Front Left/Right and .1 = Subwoofer. So 5.1 = 5 speakers i.e. 2 front, 1 cener, 2 rear and 1 subwoofer.
