Cons:
Bluetooth 2.0 is always in pairing mode unless connected to a device and it's not secure as your neighbors could actually accidentally connect.

Poor build quality; will not last long and one speaker could stop working.

Does not turn off unless you unplug it.

Pros:
Sounds awesome
These are the best sounding budget computer speakers on the market. The non-Bluetooth version has been around forever (speaker tech hasn't really changed in a few decades, and if it ain't broke don't fix it). The only negative with them is that the Bluetooth chip has no security check. Anyone close enough to them can connect and play whatever they want on them. I'm sure you can imagine how that could be a problem. It's why these are so cheap. The old non-Bluetooth version, that should cost less, retails for more than these (these have plummeted in price and are probably being cleared out to get replaced with a fixed version). If you don't care about the Bluetooth problem, these are incredible sounding speakers for the price. Costco pretty regularly has the non-Bluetooth version on sale for $70-$80.
"The older version of this speaker is THX-certified which means that it meets some really high requirements regarding the audio performance. THX certificate is the ultimate proof of quality and in order to get it, the speaker has to pass a bunch of tests. The new version doesn't have THX certificate, probably because Klipsch tried to cut costs (the manufacturer has to pay for the certification) and to make the speaker system more competitive (less expensive). In this article, we will be reviewing the old THX-certified version but you should also know that there is no noticeable difference in audio performance or sound quality between the two versions."

I got 2 of this and this is the third one I am buying. The amplifier sounds fantastic and the subwoofer is powerful enough to shake the house. Just the amp and the subwoofer are worthy for the price. How can I say no to an additional backup pair of Satellite that sounds very good too.

Personally I would wait for the same deal from Costco. My set broke within a year - one speaker stopped working unless the speaker wire was held at a very specific angle. Costco accepted the return no questions asked

I have both Costco and this Walmart version and they both emit an irritable buzzing sound when turned on. The Walmart's buzzing is somehow worse than the Costco version. I have mine on $5 smart plugs from Costco but the buzzing is extremely annoying. Sunk costs at this point wouldn't recommend. I don't want to return to Costco but I admit I should.

I understand there are several variations for the Promedia 2.1 speakers. This one has bluetooth but is not THX. Is the THX version really better in audio quality? Are there other variations besides the THX one and this bluetooth non-THX one?

They're both defective. It's a relatively common problem caused by a poor wiring job in the main speaker (the right one, if I remember correctly). Mine didn't have that issue, but I eventually upgraded to big desktop studio monitors. I'd return the Costco one if you still have a membership. It's included in the products with a lifetime warranty. You dont even need the original box. Same goes for the Walmart one if it's still under warranty.

How do you get 5% off using Paypal if you don't mind my asking? It seems that sites like Walmart and eBay are difficult to use with cashback apps, as the categories that are covered are always changing. If you have any tips, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
