I have these. I don't think you will get anything that will sound as good until at least $150. (and even then less bassy).

That said, the main issue is they idle at 18 watts and there is no switch. That's $20 a year in electricity! If you unplug them they make a terrible noise. They also hum while idling which you will only hear if your room is silent and you are close by.

Apparently not all Promedias have these issues, but it's a crapshoot based upon the quality of the amp inside. Though if you google it, it seems there a ton like me who have these issues new.

Another issue is that Bluetooth pairing has no security. So really anyone nearby (next-door neighbor) can get access to your speakers. Another annoying this is that the speaker defaults to BT if your power cycle (to turn off the annoying blue light at night). You have to click the sub button every time to switch to line-in mode.

All that said, amazing sound quality

I don't understand how they are still selling these speakers, I had the same model back in 2002!

The negative issues I'm reading make this seem like a hard pass tbh .. like some have said, this seems like a beta revision that was given very little thought. And can be seen by the lack of BT security.. like why would you omit that. seems like a good price but I'm good to pass.. these just seem like they're riding on the good name of the wired version.. trying to make a quick buck.

I had the same problem (edit: as in buying deals just because they were deals) - then I began working here and it became worse lol

Well, at least you get paid for your obsession, when many other members just contribute, and get far worse. Since you're a staff member, no doubt you can see.

Bluetooth can not carry much data. Sound quality will be less than wired version when Bluetooth is used.
