Actually I still think that demand is low. With price increases in gas and grocery way above the 8/9% inflation alot of people need to keep an eye on their coin. Most people buy food before toys. But yeah you are right companies are way overstocked on stuff too thanks to pandemic and now they can't get rid of the stuff fast enough.

it's not that demand is low, demand has normalized to pre pandemic levels. how stupid of these companies to think they would be making the same profits when every single person was sitting inside with nothing to do. time for them and nvidia to get a reality check. the amd 7000 series and nvidia 4000 series are big busts.

Your money would go far further being spent on a video card at this point. A 6700XT would cost more, but would be a much more significant upgrade.

It's a great price however I'm hesitant on this deal I do think we see better prices in November even on cpu's because the demand is kinda low atm.

That is a risk. From years of watching cpu prices, black friday might drop this cpu $25. I can see this cpu at $190 before that. But, if you need it now, this is a great price.

I see that cpu rather at 150 around BF maybe even lower. The 5800x will be under 200. I don't know that for sure of course however the demand for CPUs or computer parts in general is pretty low atm. AMD just released new cpus and i don't think they are doing so go good on sales either.

I'm not saying don't buy, it is a good price no matter what but I do expect price in November to drop.

Maybe Amazon will price match NE. Can get 5% cashback on their credit card or Discover.

It's a strange time for pc prices. Coming off the crypto crash. And then you add summer time to that. Double low demand. Add in post pandemic supply issues still causing problems. And geo political things with China and Russia. Prices are getting pulled into multiple directions. We could see prices go either way over the next couple months. But if demand continues to be low. Companies will be forced to try and sell products at discount prices to move inventory.

Will this support my x470 coming from 2700x..had my eyes on 5600x as it's the best bang for your buck

Snagged one. The 5700x is nearly on par in may ways(some apps, most games) with the 7600x for $100 less at this point, and I don't have to replace anything but the CPU. Even if it might drop further in the future, I'm willing to pay the extra $20-25 to have it now and wait for the 8xxx series.

Check your BIOS updates.

My ASUS X370 was updated to run 5000 series.

I'm debating upgrading from my 3600 but given I still run an RX480, not sure how much benefit the upgrade will have until I upgrade my card.

Yeah, that's what I figured. But as always, upgrading CPUs is tempting, especially when 3600 still has some resale value.

I doubt I come close to maxing out my 3600 regardless.

This is a good CPU. I have it in a server running Unraid..and works pretty well. 8 cores are plenty to run couple of dozen docker containers. Plus a VM or two.

AMD Q3 1B revenue miss and charge offs coming. Prices will be lower, most likely around black Friday. The 5700x has gone for $150 before at newegg a month or so ago. I would continue to hold out.

I have one, easy upgrade from a 2700x on x470. Comparable to 5800x at lower power/temps.

That being said, would I base a new build around this? No. This is for AM4 upgraders.
