You don't need extreme skills to work with these things. I've shucked at least 30-40 of these things over the years and not a single clip has been broken. I just wiggle 4 pieces of an old gift card into the back seem, slide it down to where the clips are to release them, and then slide it out. Remove the drive from the caddy, remove 1 Philips head screw to release the sata-usb adapter board, remove the activity light plastic thing, unscrew the 4 screws that mount the drive into the case, and you are home free. I can usually do one in 3 or 4 minutes from start to finish.
Then I put all the parts in a small bag and put it back inside the enclosure, slide it back most of the way, stick it in the original box (serial numbers from the drive are printed on the enclosure *and* the box), and put it in storage for the next 2 years until the warranty expires.
I've had 2 die on me and I've reassembled them and sent them back and WD didn't say a peep and just replaced them.
The only enclosures I've mutilated was about 10 years ago when I tried to shuck the Toshiba drives. Good lord those sucked.

140.00 for sas through a source i have but only has 90 day warranty.
14TB retail externals should be 150.00 IMO and we may see that on BF as WD has 22TB now

I think the difference in warranty coverage between the 2 companies speak for themselves. I've also had bad experience with Seagate drives which I realize is circumstantial evidence but my personal experience causes me to prefer WD but I will purcahse Seagate if the deal is good of course.
As for this deal, I purchased this on 11/21/21 for the same price of $199.99 thinking it was an incredible bargain that was too good to pass up.
Now that drive prices seem to be going down and Black Friday and Prime deals are upcoming I'm holding back hoping to score a better deal. $199 is still an excellent price IMO considering the drive has a 2 year warranty and can be easily shucked (Voiding the warranty of course)
Too bad its not 4x fuel points at Kroger, then I'd just go there and get the gift cards to buy these at 14% back in fuel + 5% back in credit card. At 2x its just 12% total which is better than 10%, but still gotta do a little work to get it, then again I value fuel points more than best buy points so I may still do that.
To get some tech specs out of the way, Elements and EasyStore are White drives aka relabeled Reds with under reported RPM speeds (reality is they run just the same 7200 RPM even if the stat reporting shows 5400 RPM). All of their 8TB drives and up nowadays are CMR drives. They work fine for most home NAS setups (my Synology has a full set of EasyStore / Element shucked drives).
To get some tech specs out of the way, Elements and EasyStore are White drives aka relabeled Reds with under reported RPM speeds (reality is they run just the same 7200 RPM even if the stat reporting shows 5400 RPM). ... I can wait. I am interested in maybe a 16 or 18 at 199 dollars for BF. But I could be wrong. Who knows. But I can pass on this 14 for 199 dollars. A 20 TB for 199 probably isn't going to happen, maybe 220 dollars maybe. I don't have crystal ball working at 100 percent, so I put the crystal ball down and pick up the Black 8 BALL I ask " will I get the 20 TB at 199 price next month. It says " don't know". It is not a sure thing. What do you guys think? How low will it go this BF season! Are you going to buy now or wait it out!

Now going from 6 drives to 2 (mirror) to reduce noise, heat, power usage... there could be a valid scenario there. Assuming your raid card or motherboard can support things this big.
OTOH, spending $400 to replace something that is fully functional.... that is up to you
