Lenovo is playing games. These laptops have been in the $1200-$1300 range for over a year.

Solid deal. The pros are really good machines. I might gamble and wait till later in October but I wouldn't be so sure it gets much much cheaper.

Seems like it. I got the 32GB/1TB Legion 5 Pro a year ago for just shy of $1500 before Lenovo Rewards & cashback -- think it came out to under $1350 all things considered. Great laptop, but after this much time, I would have expected a price drop.

Have this, got on clearance from Walmart for $450! Extreme YMMV, but very few Walmarts still have for $900.. But even at under $1300, great value for full power 3070 & Ryzen 7. Battery life surprisingly good as well for light tasks when needed w/ MUX switch. Comfortably outputs high settings games.

Some key notes:
Upgrade RAM. Stock ram is slow & this fix alone increases FPS ~8-10%

Add SSD. 512gb goes fast. Recommend Gen3 or cheap Gen4 since it maxes at top Gen 3 read/write speeds

Add laptop stand/cooler. I got a cheap stand from Amazon for like $6. Helps with air intake. LegionFanControl is also a program made by the Lenovo legion community and can help with fan speeds.

Lots of videos on YouTube to further optimize this laptop. I love this machine.

At best, this is an okay deal. the laptop itself is very good, but I paid $1199 for the same laptop 3 months ago. Very happy with the laptop (excellent screen, thermal management, performance, etc.) but price should be lower at this point. Was available for $899 in store only not that long ago.

I have this machine. I upgraded the ram and repasted with Liquid Metal. It runs like a champ! Love it!

Man I feel so so spoiled after that gamestop $1K deal for a 3070 laptop that I am finding it nearly impossible to pay a lot more for it going forward. Lets see what BF brings.

I brought this exact laptop for 1299 like a year ago. This is not a good deal.

Agree.

How are "deals" viewed?

Is this the best deal of all time for these specs? OR The best deal on these specs today?

This is a weird time to buy THIS laptop IMHO. Its no-doubt a fantastic laptop, but its a year old, newer processors and gpus are out, these were like $900 at walmart recently, and BF/CM are right around the corner.
----------------------------------------
I personally base deals off of the 17" Legion 5 gen 6, that I bought last year from Lenovo, when they had the crazy deals going on a year ago. Bought for $1150 before CB and id.me.

Ryzen 7 5800H
RTX 3070 135w (IIRC)
16gb DDR4
1tb ssd
