It is common practice to use Prime Western Grade zinc in galvanizing baths (AWWA, 1996), which contains a minimum of 0.5% lead by weight and a maximum of 1.4% lead by weight

i need a couple galvanized/stainless steel 1/4" sets (screw/washer/nut) for my bathroom sink.
i noticed from underneath that the old fender washer is almost rusted through. (screw+nut also rusted)
i guess water has been getting down there for years.
at minimum, replacing the washer and since this deal is about the same price as 2 washers at homedepot, might as well buy it here.
{assuming i can remove the nut.
if not, then need the whole set because i'm breaking the screw off)

Thanks for posting!
I've now got more than enough washers, lock washers, and carriage bolts on order.
We just need Hillman to put the last part on sale.

I had plenty of the split washers, as I did a 10:1 washer to split ratio. It is going to look badass.
(I do wish these weren't galvanized though... it's made it a lot more work than I had assumed.
I ordered a pack of 100 for quick delivery August 20th, they came in October 9th.
Why do they have lead? Or does everything coming out of China get the lead treatment?
