I always appreciate anyone posting but I wouldn't recommend this one. This is one of those items that bigger is better. Spend in the $50-$60 range and cover almost all vehicles instead on top of being WAY more portable. Something like: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Tackli.../813236550
Agreed, the lithium jump starters are much more transportable and keep a charge for six months or more. The lead acid (bulky) jump starters like this one have to be recharged about once a month. If you do go the route of the lead acid jump starter, make sure it also has a built-in air compressor. Jump starters with built-in compressors are fantastic for inflating tires and keeping them at the correct pressure. You set the pressure, and they stop when they reach the correct pressure.
I've had multiple lithium ion jump packs over the years and do not care for them. Every time ive needed them, they were dead and would not take a charge.

Surprised nobody has mentioned supercapacitor jump starters yet. Replaced my cinder block sized lead acid jump starter and its just so much better. Fits in pocket, super lightweight, no safety concerns over stored charge.

The only catch is that you need some amount of charge left on the car battery or some other power source for the SC to go. I carry a small LiFePO4 power bank in the car for emergencies already so it's perfect

any recommendation to one?

Rather not have a compressor built in, They all have cheap pumps that break.

This is something from my grandparent's generation. Luckily, technology has advanced and we can use a small lithium jumper instead of carrying this ancient boat anchor around.

Grandparents generation? These portable jump starters didn't even exist in the 80's. Did your parents have you when they were 12? Back then portable jump starters was prob a full size car battery with jumper cables

The best feature of the lithium polymer jump boxes is when they catch fire, burn down your garage taking three beloved vehicles that you spent hundreds of hours working on and the tools that you spent a lifetime acquiring. Lead acid batteries lack that particular feature

Why do they remove the 12V socket from so many these devices? All of them before use to include the 12V socket.

Nice price but I question how long it will last

I have a similar cheaper model that came free (different brand) (Spark)

It requires monthly charging even if you don't use it which seems really odd

I've had it I guess about a year and have not needed it

The reviews are poor especially about the tire inflator so I have not dared try it for that instead going by firestone or pep boys for free air

Way back when I was a low end car dealer these things would last years and not needed monthly charging but they get cheaper like Pizza has when they try to get low price points

(Way back when Pizza Hut made quality pizza- delivery killed quality because profits went down and because of that they did not pay managers as well so management quality went down)

I've had one for over 5 years and it still works. My truck has some issue that doesn't keep my battery charged so I'm using it all the time. I've never needed the compressor on it. There was a period where it was ok for 2-3 years so I didn't charge it for 6-12 months at a time and it never died. I can jump like 5 times before I have to charge it. Tempted to buy another. The $25 battery inside is fairly easy to swap if needed. Lithium is much harder to swap.

I don't like it having the compressor. I barely even like the light. Because they can accidentally be bumped to turn on, one time the compressor randomly turned on and startled the crap out of me. I have the 12v inflator so after the car starts I can use that instead. I hear the inflator in these units often fail anyways, but again I've never used it, if I get a flat I just swap to the spare.

Sounds like you have bigger issues than a dead battery then. Peace

I bought an Audew 2000A jump starter after it was reviewed by Project Farm. I've used it on a Dodge Grand Caravan with the 3.6l Pentastar and on a Ford F-550 with a V10. The battery in the Grand Caravan was so shot and sucking up so many amps that the alternator couldn't keep up and engine wouldn't stay running at idle. But with the Audew connected to that battery, it started up instantly. The F-550's battery was only weak, not dead, but it also started right up.

Both of these vehicles first failed to start with a Stanley jump starter that was very similar to this EverStart (the vehicles belong to my workplace, and the Stanley is what the maintenance department has). The lithium-based jump starters, aside from being more compact and convenient, can also put out more power - they run at a higher voltage than the lead-acid ones do.

Once in a while I pick a newish Car Battery from my local Salvage yard for about $40 with lifetime warranty, so when it dies,,, just exchanged for another one. While selecting the battery I go for the highest amperage, physical condition and production date, and they always Load Tested.

Nothing beats a second battery and Pure Copper cables (Stay away from the Copper Clad Aluminum (CCA)). nod
