Buy the iPhone at the T-Mobile kiosk at Costco (in-store)
- just upgrade the phone, adding a line is not required

iPhone 14 - 128 GB: $719+ tax= $763
Trade-in discount for XR: $360
- includes a one-time Bill credit of $75
- remaining balance on a virtual debit card (Master Card)
Update 1: Minor edits based on comments. Apparently, this is a usual deal from Costco. If you want a better one you should wait for the Black Friday deals in Nov, however, I'm not sure what should we be expecting though.

Does anyone know if the El Camino and/or South San Francisco stores still have a full wireless kiosk with T-Mobile service?
The SF warehouse on 450 10th street only has an ATT kiosk left, the rest has disappeared. It's just a small booth now.
Thx.
The downside is you cannot as a easily swap cards as before as you will have to download an eSIM file from your carrier. In Europe many 3rd party carriers don't even offer eSIM yet so in the rest of the world the iPhone 14 versions all still have a physical SIM slot plus one eSIM that can be active, but you could store multiple profiles and switch lines but shutting one down and activate another without having to swap physical cards.

14 is underrated. It's quite an upgrade from 11 or 12, not to mention XR!

Remember people saying the world was ending after Apple ended 3.5mm head phone jack?
What happened? The world moved with Apple, what phone has a jack anymore?
Esim is also more secure. Physical sims probably only an issue if you travel a lot. Outside USA . But in a couple years, everybody will use esim following Apple And if you have TMobile, it has world wide roaming included
