Avoid this phone like a plague. While the phone is great while it works and so is the camera, I constantly have issues with dropped calls and incoming calls going straight to voice mail … I didn't believe the reviews about bad reception and still bought it and now I am outside of the return window

The description clearly says "Unlocked". What reviews are you referring to?

I don't think anyone here will be able to accurately predict future trade-in deals.

I just got an unlocked Pixel 7 pro on the Mint deal for $589 (plus fees) including a year of service. You could either sell the service (the SIM can be used on another phone) or use it yourself. No trade required for this deal.
Thanks! Yeah I know no one can tell me for sure but just wasn't sure what tends to happen closer to Christmas with phone deals 🤔

Damn the pricing plummets like rock. Google wants all your data.

I will repeat on every pixel thread. Do not buy any google Pixel. They are not well made and CS is terrible. Mine died after falling into water for less than 2 seconds despite being ip68. Samsung could basically shoot video underwater and be fine. These are crap phones with no quality control.
Water resistant, not water proof

I've been using nexus/pixel phones since 2011. I've tried Samsung, LG, moto and HTC and I always end up back to pixel phones. Are they perfect? Nope, but the simplicity, pricing and true Android experience bring me back everytime. My pixel 6pro has been one of the best phones I've owned.

Can confirm. Just fixed a friend's pixel 6 by changing network mode to 3G from LTE/5G. Couldn't make calls and incoming calls would go straight to VM. This was on T-Mobile

These were priced at $350 when launched so don't believe the $450 price tag. Your saving $50 dollars here. I had this phone since day one and had no issues. Know which apps to avoid and websites and you wont have any issues, that goes with any phone.

I've had this for about two months now. First the good,
Feels pretty speedy. Camera has been great. Size is nice (preference I know), and I like the weight of it
Onto the bad.
It does feel cheap, a case solved that.
Screen is meh, fingerprints sensor isn't as bad as I hear but still meh.
Modem disconnects randomly on both carriers I use with it. Sometimes a airplane model toggle will fix, other times I need to reboot the phone. I've dropped and missed calls from that, so it's wicked annoying for sure.
This thing hates heat and can get hot fast. I'm in AZ but if I run. Android Auto, I can't even take a photo during it for instance. Lags and heats up and just a terrible experience.

Overall still mostly happy, but price will have a big impact on enjoymentI feel. This does seem like a pretty good price spot for the performance you can get, just be aware of some of that annoying stuff. I "upgraded" from a OnePlus 7T to this, and it's both better and worse at stuff.

I have both families of phones in my household. I used the OG pixel (which still works and does photo backup despite its 50% battery life). My moms had a 2, then a 4a, and recently 6a. The 4a had been the best phone she's ever gotten. Not a peep for two years in terms of issues. No learning curve through the updates since android marshmallow.

Sammy's have been fine too but the cameras could not compete at the price points and the slow updates left me without sometimes crucial new features. My daily driver is a note 9. It will likely be my last one from them.

Wife has 4a 5g, and it's crushed all her past motos and htcs. I'm forcing her to upgrade to the 7 because it's literally free to do so with all the incentives.

Google support has been ok to us? , but every solution they've had is to replace with a new phone...I guess Ill take that lol.

All in all I'd have stuck with Sammy if it weren't for their lack of community support.
Can you explain how you upgraded to the P7 for free?

No, it's not slow and laggy.

Update: I'm referring to the processor. it looks like the original post that I was responding to was edited to talk about 5G issues instead of slowness and lagginess.

Not really. 5G is not that important for most people. 4G works well enough. But yes it is unfortunate that some people need to turn it off.

At least the problem seems to be fixed in the Pixel 7 that uses a newer modem.
