If you purchase one of these things, stack up on pumps because they always go out. Usually after a couple seasons (or maybe 1) it's gone no matter how well you clean it out.
Man have I rebuilt these cheap 400 watt machines over the years....
....you will also end up buying a timer for it too....

3.7/5 score reviews, most of the people complain about manual operation (you have to press the button to activate), very short range for the remote (3ft) and long recharge delays.

I'll pass.

I bought one like this but without the hand on it. Clearly the same machine underneath. Anyways even with the "low lying outdoor fog juice" all it does is make a huge 20ft tall cloud which is a risk for passing cars. You need one that can cool the fog with a large dry ice chamber to keep it sitting low.

I don't believe this model works with timers. I bought one that looks identical at Lowe's and the switch was hard wired in unlike the more traditional kind you can attach timers to.

Edit: looked at the pics and it's not clear if it supports it. I wouldn't waste my time with these cheapo ones.

I used this one last year and it was a big hit for my smallish garage party and occasional fog for my outdoor decorations. I got it out this year and it seems to be working ok so far.

Yeah maybe. The only reason I even bother rebuilding any of these cheapies is because I have timers for them. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother with a cheap one with no timer. Last year I got an American DJ 1200 watt machine, that thing with piping could run an entire haunted house by itself.

I have one of these. If you lose or break the remote/fob, then you are screwed because that is the only way to activate the fog...which sucks unto itself because one will always be at the mercy of the click...

There are ways to hack a timer in. Found a timer at home Depot the other day but haven't found a good video or site to show me how

Check the clearance aisle of local WM. Three stores near me all had 6+.
