Have had my eye on these for a bit, as this is a great stability shoe with lots of padding for those susceptible to foot pain. Haven't seen them this cheap before.

Gaviota 4 is out now. Apparently it's quite an upgrade from the 3, which was not well received, especially if you liked the Gav 2.

Good to know. The 2's are my daily driver, but I have almost 500 miles on them. Was considering a new pair, maybe I'll wait for 4's.

How's is it for non running purposes compared to Clifton or bondi. Mostly for at work and comfort for standing walking around

The Gaviota is a "Stability" shoe for people with inward roll in their step or overpronation. The Clifton and Bondi are "Neutral" shoes for people with a normal to outward roll in their step. Google can help you figure out what kind of step you have or if you have a good pair of running shoes that are really comfortable check and see if they are "Neutral" or "Stability" and that's a good indication too.

Had a Gv2 and now run in the Gv3. There's noticable differences between the shoes, some good some not so good.

1) Gv2 was the quicker shoe.

2) Gv3 feels more ponderous.

3) Gv3 has a clunkier heel that is felt more often despite my midfoot strike.

3) Gv3 upper is more durable.

4) the bothersome arch band in the Gv2 has been modified in the Gv3 and no longer digs into my arch.

5) Gv3 has a more durable outsole. Rubber was added dto the central forefoot. I'm seeing less wear in Gv3 vs Gv2.

6) Gv3 has more cushion which is definitely keeps my feet happy but it comes at the cost of a slower pace.

7) Gv3 increased stack height. Shoe less stable when corning than the Gv2.

So it's a mixed bag with Gv3. My main concern is that the Gaviota series is becoming a Bondi clone. Since the original Gv1 launch the cumulative updates have made the shoe less nimble, less stable, and slower. The Gaviota has moved closer to being an orthopedic walking shoe. The Gv1 is still my favorite Gaviota although it did have some drawbacks with the upper forefoot fit.

I'd say it's okay for standing/work. But I used to wear a Bondi and that felt more comfortable for that application.

Hokas shoes build wise have gone downhill I used to swear by Clifton's and now will never purchase them again. The only hokas I buy now are bondis and speedgoats.

Just bought the 4s last week, great shoes if you have knee or back issues while running, but they take a little breaking in.

All the reviews I read say the upper has more cushioning on the 4, but other than that they're very similar to the 3.

Personally, I like them and haven't had any pain in my knees since I started wearing them.

The Gaviota 4 has a more plush upper. I wouldnt say it is a world of difference in terms of comfort. The 4 also has a wider toe box, which is a welcome improvement. Otherwise the Gaviota 3 & 4 are identical.
