Why the thumbs down? For $176 it doesn't seem like a bad deal to me. An extra 8gb of RAM and it seems like a good basic home PC as long as you can live with the small hard drive capacity. Can install an extra storage drive if needed.

What are your thoughts on using this thing as a NAS installing TrueNAS on it?
3 SATA ports (if kicking out the optical drive no one uses ever) would be good enough for RAID 5 if there is enough space to house 3 disks.
So power draw would be a concern but besides that, any other concerns?

Does this come with a SD card reader? I can't tell from the picture if the front really has an open slot for it.

The past deal for the $88 Acer Celeron J4125 does not come with a SD reader as a piece of rubber plugs up the opening on the front where a reader would normally be.

Same with this one... slot for an SD card on the case, but not an actual card reader.
