Wow.. it really seems like Westinghouse is clearing out a bunch of their inventory. Quite a few generator deals lately. Much lower than other manufacturers within the same categories. Some of their generator are very highly rated while some are sub-par. Thumbsup as this is a decent deal.

Need a generator to power sump pump during (rare) power outages. Don't really know anything about generators, especially all this inverter stuff. Is this a good one, overkill or not enough?

You could likely use a smaller generator, possibly a much smaller generator, check the startup and max power draw of the pump.

Having said that, these inverter generators only run as fast as they need to in order to meet the power needs you are drawing, They automatically rev up or down as power draw requires (If you put them in eco mode), so this is probably the best bang for the buck generator atm and I'd give it a thumbs up for this use, as you can also run more than just your pump off it.

This can be a backup generator for all your needs more than just the pump alone.

This is the best deal I have seen for an enclosed (meaning relatively quiet ) inverter generator of this size in the last couple years,

I wish it had electric and remote start though, then I'd get one too..

I just purchased this model and can't get it to stay running. After about 7to 8 pulls on choke it eventually starts but as soon as I turn it to run it immediately shuts off. Talked to Westinghouse and they think it's the CO detector not functioning. They told me to send it back to Amazon. Waiting for a replacement now.

It is a good deal. I don't like it because you need to store gasoline , change spark plug, oil plus noisy when it uses.
