I have the complete opposite experience. I'd recommend a complete reset
Walmart's Onn Watch box for $19 has been very smooth for me. I own 4 of them.
Same price at Target, Bestbuy and Google store✌🏻

I got 3 of these when they were new. They have gotten so friggen slow its practically unsable. Always restarting them too because they start constantly buffering. The only app installed is plex and I have ubiquiti wifi 6 and 6e accesspoints near by.

These are super underpowered, the home
Menu lags bad and its just slow.

Thats cool, but I have 3 of them and my father in law has one... android TV runs like garbage on them.
I got one of the original ones as well and haven't really had any problems with it. However, even before switching to Google TV from a fire TV stick I added another mesh point because my location from router is between two fire places. Once I did that it helped a lot.
I was wondering if this is a "new" 4K version or is the same as the original released version?

Same as the original released version. They just recently released a new 1080p version but didn't update the 4k one.

I think that's a plex app issue. I have the Chromecast ultra and things like YouTube and Disney plus work fine but I constantly get buffering issues with Plex

I think Plex always buffers, my others don't.

Not the experience I have. I carry this for traveling and have used them at multiple locations with varying wifi. Also use it to stream Apple TV Plus.

Are you using them for 4k content? The only time I have had problems is streaming high quality 4k content. It is a network bottleneck, not processing power. Media playing does not require much power at all.

The only thing I don't like about it is the remote. It is the slipperiest, most poorly designed remote I have ever used. It is either slipping out of my hand or I am pressing buttons I didn't intend to just picking it up.

Is there any news of a new 4K version to be released soon?
