It's not really that complex IMO. If you buy a franchise, you should have to abide by their rules. People only walk into your door because of the millions they spend on ads, you shouldn't get to benefit from that and just decline the promotions. It's a bait and switch. If you can't make the business model work, then open up Jason's Sandwich Shop or whatever you want.
The only time I used this coupon to mobile order from my nearby subway, I got a sub with literally 12 pieces of shredded cheese(Cheddar), 5 spinach leaves, 4 green pepper, inadequate lettuce and 2 lines of mayo. I didn't even open the second one. When I showed it to the guys who made the sub, they said that's the quantity they give for mobile orders used with offer coupons.
This is the only way to get decent meat on a subway sub at a reasonable price. Get two and put all the fixings from the 2nd onto the 1st LOL.

This is absolutely a bait ... and remove type situation. There are no Subways within a 10 mile radius of my home that will accept any coupons / deals. They all are now posting signs at their front counter in large font indicating they are not accepting coupons (just wish they'd post this messaging on their door so I did not need to walk in). I left a complaint on their web-site pointing this out and indicating that I believed it was a form of a bait and switch -- I didn't receive any response. A franchisee must accept the corporate office dictates - they accept all the Subway packaging and recipes as well as take the millions in corporate marketing spend, but don't have to accept that corporate dictate? I use franchisee locations since I'm supposed to get a common menu and set standards, yet somehow coupon acceptance is not one of them.

As I stated to the corporate web-site: I will no longer do any business with their restaurants. That is how we must respond in order to make it clear of our dis-satisfaction.

I'm done.

Regards!

My local subway does participate in paper coupons and app promos thankfully, plus they are really nice in there. Guess I am lucky

I've said this before and I'll say it again: SUBWAY is the WORST sandwhich shop there is, period. Any, I mean any other shop that makes sandwiches will do a better job and give more meat, etc. for around the same price,
As a consumer, you have choices and can do better and by doing better, you don't support a business like Subway that puts out promos and doesn't enforce the stupid Franchises to abide by it. If you are a franchise owner of Subway, then obviously you are a BIG idiiot!!! As far as I'm concerned, Subway might as well go out just like K-mart & Sears. The only thing they are good for is convenience as there are too many of them!
As I read, it seems like a large percentage of Subways do not accept coupons. I just saw some paper coupons in the mail like a week ago and the fine print says "at participating restaurants". How dare they call themselves are "restaurant"! So if they are not participating, then you as a consumer should not participate in giving them your business! Last time I went to a Subway, I had to guide them step by step in making a sandwich properly, then when I went to pay and presented the coupon, they said, "oh we stopped taking coupons a few months ago". So I said, "Oh really? well enjoy the sandwich you made because I stopped doing business here" and I walked out. I have zero tolerance for non-participating places.

Subway's FREEFOOTLONG is helping me have enough food when financial situation is tough. Unlike some comments, i get my subs fully loaded with meat and toppings (from stores in San Jose and Rochester,NY). I eat 6" at a time making it 4 good meals for 10-12$

Do you really think Subway corporate is paying for advertising or ANYTHING else? If so, you don't understand the franchising system. The FRANCHISEES pay for EVERYTHING. Corporate makes their salaries and expenditures from the royalty that the franchisees pay them. As for advertising, franchisees pay for all the advertising as well. Corporate does not listen to input from franchisees when coming up with coupons and offers, so franchisees just stop accepting them. As someone else mentioned, corporate still makes money, as they get their cut off the top. If you sell more sandwiches, they make more money whether the franchisee is breaking even or not.
I encourage everyone to complain to corporate that no one is honoring the BOGO offer.

tried 10 subways around me and none of them take any promo codes
I tried 20 Subways:
18 accepted the previous "BOGO50" for buy one footlong get one footlong for 50% off
2 accepted FLBOGO

Also I bought $300 worth of Subway gift cards for 20% off from Target. So I am paying $3.60 a footlong, instead of $9 a footlong.

Not only does corporate not compensate them, corporate takes a cut off the top for every sale, even the ones that use a promo. I've seen various computations saying that depending on the market and sandwich, these coupons fall somewhere between dealing the franchisee a significant loss to a very slim profit. Corporate, on the other hand, makes more money because more sandwiches are sold.
I highly doubt it's accurate. Corporate, of any franchise, takes its percent from the "sale aka REVENUE" in cash, and NOT on per item sale. In other words, at POS, whatever the "total" you actually pay in real money gets corporate a percent of that total: you might be ringing up 2 sandwiches here, but actually paying for one, eg. $10 in real money. Corporate would be collecting the percent off of $10, not $20. Any franchisee Gere, please correct me if it's otherwise?

How do you even know after you order if the store will sell the sandwiches to you? I see some store in the app don't allow the coupon but if it applies at certain stores we should be good upon pickup?

I used to get the mobile deals - they would text one a week or so - at my local spot until the franchise stopped taking them. Im not a business owner so I can imagine how complex all these things are but man its a weird vibe when corporate advertises and something and you flat out say no, makes me really feel like not going - which just loses more business no?

Like many times when I use a coupon I'm only going to take advantage of the deal. I suppose if you're taking a loss on that then I see the silliness but you wouldnt have gotten anything from me if not for the coupon getting me into the door. Im sure its all a very thin margin and what not.
This reminds me of a similar, yet much worse thing thats been happening. "No gas no squeegie" and recycling dad's gaft gift card, Hyundai has been "pumping up" demand for about two years now with these notable ads for their plug in hybrids and the cars just don't exist. You go to the dealer and they are helpless and wish they would cut the ads. They have no idea when or if they will see a plug in hybrid car, i checked with several of them and some said up to a year wait. I understand they have contracts for ads but it can't be for that long. And they do seem to have regular cars, but that bait and switch won't work.

It puts the local car sales guy is the strange position of being pestered by customers and hiding, instead of the traditional pushy salesman. Its not in their nature. Anyway it hearkens to this, with maybe the national corporate goals ignoring impact to, and really causing problems for, their lifeblood front end guys.

Don't mention "a coupon", don't talk to the employees about a coupon.

Just order your stuff on their mobile app.

I don't understand how many posters are getting turned down by the deal. Place your order via the app and they probably don't even notice the price.
