This stuff is truly incredible compared with the sandpaper I was used to using. It works much quicker and more smoothly, like butter even at 80 grit. I think a lot of this is due to the improvement in dust extraction. Unlike conventional hook-and-loop sandpaper which extracts through the a handful of holes in the pad which is majority aluminum oxide abrasive, with these the majority of the pad is actually the mesh backing (the white part) with the wavy purple ceramic abrasive applied on top. A lot more surface area for extraction. It produces very fine dust, so expect a fine sheen to coat the entire room regardless though. You can probably get away with jumping from a coarse grit straight to your finish sandpaper where conventional wisdom would advise using three or four different grits. I bought this for $9.46 in August. Each pad lasts much longer than a name-brand aluminum oxide equivalent, which IMO more than makes up for the increased cost, even without considering all the other benefits.

For another 13 bucks you can buy these in 50 packs in the specific grit you need.

Here are a couple really good links that review this sandpaper as compared to others. Generally it performs best and justifies the extra cost.

Having used these myself, I would take into consideration what you are sanding. If you exclusively do wood then this is great and you will get value. If you are scuffing paint to repaint something, you won't get the value here because you will gunk up the mesh and make the pad unusable before its ability to sand has worn out.

Edit: I see using the drop down and selecting other grits... I just searched it on Amazon before making this comment.
Where? This isn't a bad price for all of the grits.

This stuff came out way ahead of anything else in Project Farms' testing!

Project farm rated this the best sandpaper which was good enough for me, don't need anymore right now but it has been great on 12mm baltic birch.

Good for someone wanting to work on one project or rarely use their sander. If you know what grits you need and regularly use your sander at all, I'd definitely go with the bigger packs.

I'm seeing another $20 for the 5 inch (13 more is the 3 in). Still a better deal but not on sale.

I swear by Mirka Abranet sandpaper - this looks like basically the same concept but cheaper, going to give it a try

I need to sand some concrete but I don't have a sander, just a drill. Anything like this I can use with my drill?

Not a deal, cheaper at taytools and substantially cheaper in larger quantities, regardless of imaginary sales.
It's $0.06 cheaper on taytools and also has $7.99 shipping for me. Variety packs are always cheaper than individual sizes in bulk - it's so people can try it or for those who don't have a massive need.

2 pieces of each grit is hardly a useful quantity. This is 0.66 per disc, and while this is high quality sandpaper, 2 discs goes fast. Nevermind how you're really only getting a handful of the most generally useful discs for basic tasks- 120, 180, and 220. Why even bother with 240 if you're going to jump right after to 320? I promise you the 320 is aggressive enough to go from 220. I often take mine from the planer to 220 immediately with this sandpaper.

10 packs at tay tools start at $0.53 per disc, and in higher quantities get down to slightly over $0.40 a disc. And they run 10% off and free shipping promotions. No matter how you slice it, this is a poor value- and in September this sandpaper was on sale as cheaply as $33/100.
