Was with you until you said burn in is user error. My lg b7 has burn in and I don't watch anything with static elements for a long period of time. Also lots of people who use them as computer monitors experience burn in

"I don't watch anything with static elements for a long period of time."

But that's the only way to get burn in.

Yea I'm doing same setup as you and got the bar for a similar price else where. Waiting for low 200s 9500s new or open box sub 200. I'm beyond the return period so can't swap at this point. The 1k samsung bar setups though made me start to consider actual sound systems if I was gonna spend that much.

Above is brand new. I purchased and they shipped within 2 hours. Purchased for my q800b.

Also buydig and electronics express on eBay has open box for sub $200

So it's "user error" to watch or play things with static elements? 🤡

It's real. Burn in is a real thing no matter what anyone tells you. Yes, it's not nearly as common in newer TVs due to the myriad of safety features they have to prevent it. But, it still happens.

Static elements are the main concern for burn in. I've heard stories of people playing just a couple of hours with static elements and eventually got burn in. I've heard others say they've played for 6-7 hours a day with static elements and no burn in. Regardless, you pick what you want. Yea, you may have to baby sit the tv slightly as to not cause burn in, but OLEDs do provide the best possible picture.

My house is full oled: LG B7, Sony A80j, Samsung s95b

Lol. Calm down. Then stop listening to "stories". 🤡🤡

You don't get burn in from static images on the screen UNLESS they're there for a long time and you have the tv in torch mode. And by long time, it doesn't have to be one single period of time. Playing the same game or watching the same tv show with banners etc in the same place, day after day, could cause eventual burn in.

I don't "baby" my oleds. The one in my bedroom plays all night every night. I watch VARIED content. I don't leave it on the weather channel for hours a day with contrast and oled backlight on 100 and then wonder why the logo is burned in. Lol.

Burn in is user error. I don't have NEW oleds. I have a B6 and a B7. Zero burn in. Zero.

You watched the Rtings burn in tests, yes?

Ps...I didn't say burn in wasn't "real". I said it wasn't a "real problem". As in...something to worry about. SIMPLY don't watch the same thing with static images on the screen for long periods of time with the tv in high brightness settings.

No both the 990b & the 930b have 2.0.2 rears (the SWA 9500S is also a 2.0.2 setup). 990b has a bigger and better sub than the 930b and the soundbar itself is bigger and is a 9.0.2 soundbar (vs 7.0.2 for the 930b) which means the 990b SOUNDBAR has 2 extra side firing speakers

Edit: Going to correct myself and leave my comment up You're right gothamm. The rears with the 990b and the 930b have side firing channels which makes them 4.0.2 rears. This means the q800b and q930b minus it's rears are identical 5.1.2 setups

Would you mind sharing how you determined the soundbars in Q800B and Q930B are the same? If they are indeed the same, I would like save the $180 as well. Big Grin

I did some digging and confirmed what I knew already as the difference between Q800B and Q930B. The Soundbar in Q800B is a 5.0.2 (Sr,L,C,R,Sr) plus 2 upfiring channels while the Q930B has 7.0.2 (Sr,Sr,L,C,R,Sr,Sr) plus 2 upfiring speakers. With the sub and adding the satellites (2.0.2) to Q800B makes them 7.1.4 and 9.1.4 respectively. So you will be missing the 2 additional surround channels in the Q800B compared to the Q930B.

What it comes down to is:
Q800B ($479) plus SWA-9500S (~$220) = $699 plus tax for a 7.1.4 soundbar setup
Q930B - $999 plus tax (minus $100 GC) at BestBuy for a 9.1.4 setup

Question is - are the 2 additional surround channels in $930b worth $200?

Happy to try and help. I verified this with a couple of sources. I went in store and looked at both models. I also looked up the specs on Best Buy using the compare tool (link below). Specifically click on 'more specs' and look at the soundbar dimensions and the subwoofer dimensions and weight (if you add the 990b or the 700b you'll see that their soundbars and subs have different dimensions)

Lastly I am also basing this on the rears which come with the 930b. These are 4.0.2 rears (the same as those which come with the 990b). Since the 930b is a 9.1.4 system this means that minus the rears it is a 5.1.2 system (which is exactly what the 800b is)

Now one disclaimer - I have NO idea if Samsung has built any internal differences between the two but, minus the rears, the two seem identical. For additional reference, here is a comparison on Rtings as well

Oops missed your reply here. Hmm that's actually exactly what I thought but if you see the product images on Samsung or Best Buy websites, specifically the images of the rears, you'll see that the rears have front AND side firing speakers to go with the upfiring ones. At the end of the day though, yeah the question is whether the 2 additional channels are worth $200.

I just set up the q800b with the 9500s and it sounds awesome. You can even control the rears through the Smart Things app which brings the system together. So I don't think (for me at least) 2 extra side firing speakers on the rears justifies the additional cost

That is a really great price for the Sonos bundle. Whether it's worth the extra $300 or so I don't know. Rtings and AV Forums have rated the Q990B as best in class. However they don't really do any sort of bug testing. Yes I have read that the q990b can be buggy, especially some folks (in their amazon reviews) reporting the the left rear getting disconnected periodically. I guess if you already have the Sonos setup and you enjoy it, stick with it. If you're not loving it too much, give the q990b a shot

That's an awesome deal you got there. The best I could find for that $1740.
I was anxious about the quality issues too, on official site people complaining about intermittent disconnect. I received my 990B today and I didn't know it was this heavy, 65lb of package. Connectivity was seamless and sound is very good (watched 6 underground on Netflix). Good thing BHPV have holiday returns through Jan/Feb 2023. I hope I don't face any quality issues until then.

I read the previous comments, and looks like this was a ymmv thing. Sorry about that folks, I should've added that probably.

I ended up going the Q800B route as well. Picked up one at BestBuy through Samsung EPP for $479 and have an ebay order coming in Monday for the SWA-9500S.

Do you know if you can add more than 1 pair of SWA-9500S to Q800B? Just curious - would be awesome if we can add 2 pairs and make it a 11.1.6 system and still within the price of a Q930B Big Grin

small correction: the rears on the q930b are 2.0.2, not 4.0.2. That must mean that the extra two drivers are housed in the bar, making the bar 7.0.2
