I happened to have tested this drive for work and compared it to the Samsung dual USB-C/USB-A drive. The Sandisk got around 27MB/s write, 110MB/s read. The Samsung drive got 112MB/s write, 400MB/s read. This was using Blackmagicdesign's Disk Speed Test.

The biggest deal killer for the Sandisk was how hot it got and the performance takes a big hit when it gets hot. Bottom line: its not a good drive if you plan on using it frequently or for large files. I wouldn't keep it plugged in all the time either.

Its too bad because having the USB-A and USB-C on the drive without an adapter is a big plus compared to the Samsung. It might be fine for people that uses these drives lightly and are patient.
This is a much better deal for ¢0.3 more. Speeds are more than twice as fast under 3.1 interface. It is backwards compatible with 3.0 and 2.0. and waterproof. SAMSUNG Type-C™ USB Flash Drive, 128GB, Transfers 4GB Files in 11 Secs w/ Up to 400MB/s 3.13 Read Speeds, Compatible w/ USB 3.0 / 2.0, Waterproof, 2022 https://a.co/d/4oXOyfE
But it does nit have usb a connector.

I use the previous gen SanDisk ultra drive and they are amazing. SanDisk traded on the goodwill generated by them to push the cheap garbage they're selling now.

This is awesome for putting your roms and emulators on your steamdeck if you don't have USB-C on your pc. Put one end into the PC, add everything, then switch over to yer USB-C to get that mug up in that steamdeck

I think you are remembering Lexmark which was an IBM spin off.

Lexar, a storage maker, makes an incredibly small USB-A drive Jump S47 but it never got more than 128GB of storage while Samsung and Sandisk increased the storage size of their competing products.

I am surprised that I haven't gotten this earlier. This drive has a 4.6 out of 5 (77,928 reviews) so I am pretty confident that I will be happy with it. I have been happy with all my sandisk products and they all still work today. I really dig the the dual drives as it would be so convenient to have both usb and usb type c connectors. That is a huge PRO for me.

I see the 256GB is only $25 (original $27.25) .. I don't quite get it. Why is the 128GB originally priced at $59.99?

This dual usb drive is surprisingly so small. It looks bigger in the picture but this thing is only 1.5" long. My regular usb stick drives are 2.25" long.

Seconding this. I own this drive. While convenient to have both, it's really annoying to have to hold the nub on to keep the header out while you're plugging it in. The actuating force to push the header back into the housing is lower than the force needed to plug into basically every port. It's not hard to adjust, but it's one of those things that wears on you the more you do it. I'm switching over to just using usb c or usb a drives and having adapters when needed. the convenience of this drive is outweighed by the annoyance of the compromise made every time you try to use it.
Just wanted to add... In some USB-A ports, this thing can be downright painful to plug-in and it can be difficult to know if you have pushed it in far enough to make a solid connection. Waste of money. If you need twin connectors, find something with an alternative execution to this retractable, slide-style button.

I have this already and like it. Solid enough for the keychain, and the "swing drive" style switching is pretty foolproof. So another possibility...

I bought this drive a couple years ago. It's very convenient for transferring files from my Samsung Note phone to my pc but at a cost. It's relatively slow and gets very hot. Large files are a no-go. The other glaring issue is that I can't move files from my microSD card to this thumb drive when it's plugged into my phone. Which is where most of the pics on my phone end up before being moved to storage. Could be the phones fault but I figured I would mention it since that's what I bought it for and it won't do it.

Those are great drive, using a couple of those with 128gb and have had no problems and they are fast.
