    I happened to have tested this drive for work and compared it to the Samsung dual USB-C/USB-A drive. The Sandisk got around 27MB/s write, 110MB/s read. The Samsung drive got 112MB/s write, 400MB/s read. This was using Blackmagicdesign's Disk Speed Test.

    The biggest deal killer for the Sandisk was how hot it got and the performance takes a big hit when it gets hot. Bottom line: its not a good drive if you plan on using it frequently or for large files. I wouldn't keep it plugged in all the time either.

    Its too bad because having the USB-A and USB-C on the drive without an adapter is a big plus compared to the Samsung. It might be fine for people that uses these drives lightly and are patient.

    Not recommended Sandisk Ultra because it has darn slow write speed. Get Sandisk Extreme Pro.

    Don't these usually have USB2 or less write speeds? The Samsung ones usually are a lot faster for read and write.

    Thanks for suggestion I bought 256 gb for $30 for faster / better samsung drive.

    This drive's retractable mechanism either doesn't work at all or breaks soon after, forcing you to hold the level and force it into the port. Not worth it, get the samsung instead.

    Seconding this. I own this drive. While convenient to have both, it's really annoying to have to hold the nub on to keep the header out while you're plugging it in. The actuating force to push the header back into the housing is lower than the force needed to plug into basically every port. It's not hard to adjust, but it's one of those things that wears on you the more you do it. I'm switching over to just using usb c or usb a drives and having adapters when needed. the convenience of this drive is outweighed by the annoyance of the compromise made every time you try to use it.
