Hi, I have a 10 year old set of cordless tools that are about dead. I bought replacement batteries a couple of years ago, but they are also starting to fail.
Looking to upgrade. I'm a home DIY'er, and don't do that many overall projects, but do want to build some shelving for the home and some storage shelving. And you always have something that needs done here and there.
Anyway, I don't see the need to buy anything super expensive like Milwaukee or DeWalt, but do want to settle on one brand, was thinking maybe Ryobi or Ridgid, they seem lesser priced.
Was curious if folks thought these were decent, both brushless tool sets, and a total of $400. I would still need a couple of more tools, but this would replace what I currently have. And would give me 5 total batteries which should be plenty.
Does any expect better deals for Black Friday or Christmas? or any other advice? I can wait some if needed.

The other question would be how are you caring for your batteries? Constantly leaving them on the charger or leaving them in a cold garage would diminish their lifespan. If the tools themselves are still good, a few new batteries would certainly be the cheaper route than total replacement.

I really want the drill, circular and reciprocating saw, jigsaw, multitool, and sander at least.
It seems most of them offer a huge array of tool choices, with I guess Ryobi having the most and being the least expensive. I can get everything I want in Ryobi Brushless from HD for $500. In any other brand I'm priced out, been around $700.
