I chatted with OnePlus support online.

"I would like to inform you that OnePlus 9 Unlocked devices come with globally unified and unlocked device from the factory itself. It will support all carrier bands.
And OnePlus 9 T-Mobile Unlock is carrier locked device. And due to website error it is mentioned as T-Mobile Unlock. However, it is carrier locked device.
LE2115 is North America unlock variant device and LE2117 is T-Mobile."

So I definitely want Unlocked (LE2115). Although this T-Mobile version might work for me now since I am on Mint (T-Mobile MVNO), I want to have the flexibility to use the phone on other carriers, e.g., when I travel overseas.

Am I the only one that has terrible issues with typing on this phone? I used it for a while when I sent my Pixel 6 is for repair and it would miss letters constantly. I could not figure out why it would fail to register my typing.

Edit: someone asked if I have a screen protector. I do not. I had also spent some time troubleshooting it, full wipe, set up as new no backup restored, clearing data, turning off vibration, a different keyboard, etc etc. Issue persisted. I sort of wanted to stick with it but I can't deal with typing issues.

Nop, I can't. I have to pay shipping for phone case on another transaction.

I hope you guys have more luck with the Oneplus 9 than the Oneplus 8 that i got last december. The phone has been a mess. Whenever they update the phone something goes wrong. When Android 12 came through it locked the phone up. 3 weeks ago another update went through now i cant connect bluetooth to my tablet. Looking for another phone but it aint gonna be Oneplus, i dont care how cheap it is!!

Thanks,
Got 9 pro for $342.94 - $200 (additional trade-in benefit)
$142.94 for 9 pro is a good price
to answer the question T mobile unlocked is good for all networks its just 2 T mobile apps would be there and the logo on the boot
Might elaborate how you get 9 pro for $342.94?

Also any reason spending the extra $100 on 9 Pro VS 9? As far as spec goes they look very similar, and I don't care for curve screen (I think it breaks easier).

The 9 Pro qualifies for an extra $200 trade in credit for older oneplus phones. The 9 doesn't. That's why some are opting for the 9 Pro instead of the 9.

I'm thrilled as I have an 8t which I was able to use the trade in offer:

Subtotal
$699.00

Discount
-$300.00

Instant Trade-in
-$110.00

Shipping and sales tax
Total $329.91

Then when I trade in my 8t, I get $200 credit. I'm not sure if this is a voucher for $200 off a future purchase or $200 goes back on my credit card.

If I don't send in the 8t, Im out the $200 credit and I am charged $110 on the instant credit for trade in.

So I can:

A) return the 8t as per the agreement and I get either $200 credit or voucher. This makes my 9pro cost $129 as an upgrade. If it's a voucher then my cost is $329 with a $200 credit to a store I won't likely use.

B) not return the 8t and use it as a back up media device for the kiddo. They will charge me the $110 instant trade-in-credit on the card in file. This will cost me $329 for the 9pro and 110 to keep the 8t.

I'm thinking of just keeping my device and eating the $110 trade in credit.
It might take a while, but you will get cash back on your credit card. I did the same thing last year with my OP5. They gave additional $100 during the promotion but I got $100 cashback after many weeks. Just do diligent follow up

S22+ deal at Best Buy, everyone. Go for that instead. Newer and much better phone for this same price. Just go buy an S21 off Amazon for $310, do 1 day shipping, and trade it into Best Buy in store, and you'll get an S22+ 128gb with about $30 in gift card. My guess is the deal will be gone on Sunday.

But with that said, I have no business stopping you from buying this phone if you prefer OnePlus. Just wanna throw some awareness out there.

Edit: Best Buy trade in deal link added for reference. It's in store only.

I think your math is off. They're offering $130-$150 for the s21.

No offense taken. Check out this Best Buy in store trade in deal. They're offering $800 for the S21. Also the S22+ is on sale at $750 right now.

Sorry, didn't mean for my comment to come off as rude. It's strange because I went to the s22+ product page and began the trade in process for the s21. But it was stating a $130 trade in value. Checking the terms for the $800 offer, it appears that's only valid in store. Definitely something to look into. Thank you. I would not have known about this without your comment.

This phone might go down to $199 like the 8-T did at the end of last December.
