Great price on a quality wireless headset. I've tried a few headsets in the $100 range and couldn't find any without issues with mic quality, feedback, etc. except for these. I've had them for a year and a half now and they work just as well today as when I bought them.
Really doesn't matter at all. USB-C is nice for a charging cable, since you can more easily plug it in while it's still on your head without fumbling with it as much, but that's such a minor issue it shouldn't even factor into which headset you buy. Comfort, sound quality, mic quality, and connectivity are significantly more important.
You aren't wrong that generally, for the same total price, you'd get better sound and mic quality from standalone headphones and a separate mic. But for a completely wireless solution with no lag, you have to have a dedicated 2.4GHz receiver, something that essentially all "gaming" headsets use, while essentially all non-gaming wireless headsets use bluetooth. Bluetooth is okay enough for listening to music or watching movies, but the added delay and often unreliable connection makes it a bad choice for gaming. If you don't believe me, just try a bluetooth keyboard - it's miserable for gaming.

Why is this not a frontpage deal? It's literally 50% off and seller is Amazon.

Might have been only me, but they seemed to echo everything I was listening to through the microphone. I returned after a week.

I've had a Steelseries Arctis 7 wireless for years. Had to replace the pads a few times (both the cloth and the faux leather ones, now on my 3rd set of ear pads), but it's otherwise been nearly perfect. Only recently started having issues with game chat/audio chat not working correctly (need to unplug and re-plug in the transmitter, restart the headset or PC, etc) but it's also been like 4 years now.

Based on that experience and my other experience with multiple Steelseries mice, I bought this pair. Technically a downgrade from the Arctis 7, but after cash back and pickup deals, $43 for a good wireless headset from a good company is a no brainer.

How did you get the cloth and pads replaced? Mine fell apart recently after having them for 3-4 years

Gaming headsets are a gimmick. Get regular headphones and a microphone for better audio quality.

Good music headphones will allow you to hear the game environment better. Good microphones will allow your voice to be heard better.

Gaming headsets are garbage versions of both.

That setup won't work on consoles. Get out

I don't disagree with you but I am retiring micro usb based devices gradually as they end their life cycle. Adding new ones is out of question and big NO.

Getting a stand-alone mic and headset is not always the answer. I went through and tested some different combinations to try and replace my hyperx cloud flight S wireless, and I couldn't find anything better. The main drawback was sidetone / mic monitoring. The Flights have it, and trying to emulate it on windows just wouldn't work. There was lag when my voice came though my headset even with hardwired mic and headset. I was hopeful for Bluetooth, and that was a lost cause too as others mention. Not to mention convenience of being wireless vs two extra wired devices taking up space.

They're definitely clearing inventory to phase out old products. This isn't even listed on Best Buy anymore, which was where I got this product 3 years ago. Great stuff and battery/mic is phenomenal for what it's worth. I've since moved to Logitech pro x wireless but this is still my default backup when i'm charging my logitechs

Does anyone have experience using this as a work headset and conferencing?
Same question. Would this be good for non-gaming usage or there are better options out there? Thanks so much.

You can buy replacement pads directly from Steelseries. There are also tons of 3rd party ear pads available on Amazon, but most of them are a "one size fits most" and I believe the Arctis earpads are smaller than most. 3rd party pads would work in a pinch, but I'd recommend getting the actual Steelseries pads because they fit properly.

You're paying a premium for the gaming dongle, so if you don't console game I would look at the myriad of options for USB wired headsets. Logitech tends to sound good for my wife and colleagues.

Works better for computers/conferencing without lag. When I use BT headphones different apps for video conferencing don't always work well sometimes. Think, MS teams, Zoom, Google meet, webex...

How do you close up the pads with the cloth? They were sealed before with a ring and I cant get it back in place
