Great price on a quality wireless headset. I've tried a few headsets in the $100 range and couldn't find any without issues with mic quality, feedback, etc. except for these. I've had them for a year and a half now and they work just as well today as when I bought them.
Really doesn't matter at all. USB-C is nice for a charging cable, since you can more easily plug it in while it's still on your head without fumbling with it as much, but that's such a minor issue it shouldn't even factor into which headset you buy. Comfort, sound quality, mic quality, and connectivity are significantly more important.
You aren't wrong that generally, for the same total price, you'd get better sound and mic quality from standalone headphones and a separate mic. But for a completely wireless solution with no lag, you have to have a dedicated 2.4GHz receiver, something that essentially all "gaming" headsets use, while essentially all non-gaming wireless headsets use bluetooth. Bluetooth is okay enough for listening to music or watching movies, but the added delay and often unreliable connection makes it a bad choice for gaming. If you don't believe me, just try a bluetooth keyboard - it's miserable for gaming.

Back in stock and still $49. But will it work on an Xbox with the dongle?

Read these reviews before deciding to get this:

1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid Steelseries: Bad Anti-repair Company with fake RMA/Warranty Guarantee
Reviewed in Canada on March 10, 2022

I liked this product when I got it but the USB charging port never seated properly. A year in to owning it, the usb wouldn't seat at all, and I opened various tickets about this issue. I was ignored by Steelseries customer support, and found dozens and dozens of people in the same situation. I tried to get an RMA to replace the defective product or have it replaced, but like everyone else I was erroneously denied in spite of all of the relevant documentation and proof (including dozens of corroborating posts, threads and videos of other customers experiencing the same defect).
The ENTIRE Steelseries subreddit is people dealing with repairing their products themselves, experiencing buyer's remorse for these overpriced devices. What's more is that Steelseries was sold december last year, and the parent company could not care less.

Fight these companies, and fight for right to repair.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful headset, do NOT buy

This headset is terrible. Very uncomfortable to wear and mis-advertised as being USB compatible when it is not. The only USB it has is USB-C which can't even be used with a PC unless you buy an adapter. The microphone quality is middling at best, my friends over Discord could barely hear me properly.

1.0 out of 5 stars Microphone static
Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2022

I've been using this for about a month now. How does a 100 dollar headset have random microphone static out of the box. You even touch the mic and it's crazy static for me, and whoever I'm talking to. This will be the 1 and only steel series I ever buy. Back to Corsair for me. Better build quality for cheaper. Absolute waste for 100 dollars.

1.0 out of 5 stars Uncomfortable, bad sound quality

Hurts my head and worse sound quality then a 30 pair of Logitech. If I can get something figured out in the setting will adjust review on sound but gave me a headache after gaming for an hour.

How do you close up the pads with the cloth? They were sealed before with a ring and I cant get it back in place
Hook the ring on the earpad on the little notch on the headset, then rotate it back into place: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9r-zuW6W1Jk

Thanks I just need to buy the ear pads. I hope I didn't throw away the dongle by accident.

I will definitely purchase a second set when it drops to $50 again. Totally worth it!
