I am currently using Sony WHCH700N for the gameplay and pretty happy with it. Wondering if 7.1 makes any difference. I don't really mind the cable.

Love the higher end logitech headsets in general but this one is just a big meh.

They do sound quite good otherwise. And mine haven't broken after... I don't know, probably more than a year. Again, not a daily driver. They stay hung safely and have not fallen on the ground yet. I'm sure I've just jinxed myself and they will soon.
For $35 if you are not hard on things it's a fine, budget headset.
I second this. Mine broke from the same place after about a year. Didn't bother to replace it so ducktaped it and continued using. After a while got fed of the cable and switched.

used this to death... literally, will hold up well as long as you don't trip on it (tended to do that when using it on the ps4 or xbox back in the day)
the surround sound via usb dongle is great for positional, not the greatest as so far i would say the dolby atmos with rig headsets seem to be the best but now idk (seems they went a route where you don't pay for a perpetual license on pc anymore.... u pay for like 3 year license which is dumb...)
for 35 bucks i think its probably the best, only other one i have used that have gone down that low are plantronics.... i switched to wireless though due to well, eventually i broke them due to cord tripping or forgetting about the cord >>
