Check your account in TF app, the pending add-a-line bonus points should appear within 30 seconds once it was added (the agent would tell you that). You may need to close and reopen the app to see the points. After you see the points in the TF app, you may proceed to activate, either ask the agent or do it yourself in the app. (If you don't see pending points (whether the device was added by yourself or via chat) after 10 minutes, do not activate the new device. Remove the inactive device from your account, wait a day then chat with an agent to add the device back to your account.)
Not sure if the end of the year extension was trying to juice the new lines for new daddy Verizon to be happy with the acquisition.
No clue if it'll be extended even more.

Given that the phone is crap, do I need to be able to power on the phone and activate for the above goals? Or can I still do it if the phones are duds?

Can I "add a line" for 10k points, wait until it posts, then activate 61 days later? then on the next day merge the lines to harvest the minutes/time?
