There have been many reports of these large-capacity 870 EVOs failing within a year. My lightly used 4TB drive failed too which was a big surprise (because I have exclusively used Samsung SSDs for almost 10 years and none had failed before). I went through the RMA process and Samsung sent me a brand-new drive (took a few weeks), but I did end up losing some of my files.
If you order this, make sure to check the manufacturing date. The later the better - a lot of the failed drives were from 2021 (although there was some speculation that a faulty firmware update was to blame for the failures).
I can't say that I need another one of these, but this price is too good to pass up. I purchased a 4TB at Amazon with a November 20 delivery date - I'll cancel by Monday if I change my mind.
