Do you even know what Walmart+ actually is? You absolutely do not have to live near a store to take advantage of the benefits. Quite the opposite, in fact, because the primary benefit is free local delivery of basically anything from the store to your front door, including groceries. I've been having nearly all of my groceries and supplies delivered for two years now, which has freed up probably a couple hundred hours of my life by now that I would have otherwise spent pushing a shopping cart up and down the aisles.

If you happen to not live within the delivery radius of any Walmart store, congrats, you are in a statistical minority of Americans, and the service would probably not present a worthwhile value to you.

If you're using it correctly (i.e., not just to get a few discounted records from their online store), you are absolutely getting something for your money beyond a "gimmick." If the service isn't worth it to you, that's perfectly fine, but there is a very clear value proposition here (spend money on deliveries to save time going to the store yourself), and that simply is not the definition of what a "gimmick" is.
