Links to those "reviews" you want us to read, please?

I'd actually link you some of them, right now:

1. Jarrod's Tech [youtube.com] - Despite reviewing the much more power-hungry configuration of this, i9 + RTX 3080 Ti, he still reported the battery life to be around 6 hours.
2. Matthew Moniz [youtube.com] - He reviewed the same model as Jarrod; however, he indeed reported it to be around 2 hours. It could be that he got a lemon, and I'd personally believe Jarrod more than Matthew (despite following them both)
3. Ben G Kaiser [youtube.com] - reviewed this exact same configuration as in the deal and reported the battery life to be 6 hours with normal use, which is respectable.

All these reviews stated the thermals to be well managed and under control, and certainly never got "very warm" according to you.

When Jarrod's tech can get 6 hours from the i9 + RTX 3080 Ti, there's no way this won't get just as much if not more, certainly not 2 hours that's for sure.

Next time try to come up with facts/links to back up your statements instead of throwing words in the air with no knowledge whatsoever.

Because it's not just a gaming laptop but primarily a creator laptop as well. Hence, why you see the AMOLED screen with excellent color coverage and brightness but also just a 60Hz refresh rate and lower wattage GPU.

Is there a 3070 Ti laptop that doesn't get horrible battery life? Serious question.

How are they able to put a RTX 3070 graphics card into a laptop size when the desktop version is the size of a brick?

Surely there must be a tradeoff?

Got this on the last promotion for 100 dollars more and, for the price is good, but I don't personally love this laptop, no. It does get quite warm when doing nothing special, it's heavy and pretty bulky for a "thin and light", the lack of ports bothered me more than I anticipated, since that dongle that comes with it is really bad, more like an afterthought than anything and the windows 11 that comes with it is really slow/laggy, idk if it was a problem on my end or what, but after I installed Windows 10, I feel like I got a completely different machine, it's a lot snappier and more responsive than the windows 11, which gave me a really bad taste, since It felt unnaceptable that a device with these specs would run so poorly. However, the screen is absolutely gorgeous, it's better than my macbook 16 miniled. idk if I would pay 1399 again, but at around 1000(if it ever gets this low) is a no brainer.

Literally all AMD Ryzen based Laptops as an example. He is not talking about gaming in battery but general works.
And Intel 12th Gen is a powerhog definitely, even when doing normal tasks but as per Jarrod's review, this laptop with its huge 99.9 WHr Battery, actually scores lower in tasks like YouTube Playback, than some other 12th Gen H series Laptop with even higher wattage RTX 3070 Ti and smaller battery. Gigabyte's tuning for this laptop wasn't that great considering this is geared towards Content creators and Productivity works. As the other guy suggested whom you were quoting, check some reviews

In general laptop GPUs are limited in terms of their power consumption and sometimes may have lower frequencies. That's the tradeoff. When compared with the desktop counterpart, laptop GPUs in general can be 10-20% slower.

I bought this laptop 3 months ago at BB store and returned it. Yes that's true It has nice GPU and AMOLED screen but the problem was this laptop couldn't manege the heat and noise. Not only when playing games(league of legend), but also during general work, the fans spins so loudly and heats up so easily. If this laptop could manege the temperature than I wouldn't return it. Because it has really nice screen. And actually I needed to laptop for office work. But, temperature of the typing part was so high, it made my fingertips tingle. I really liked it, but I just couldn't handle it. It looked like it was going to break soon. I think a lot of people would consider it for a gaming laptop. In short, you will regret it.

At 5 lbs it's good for self defense. 3070 ti is overspecced for creators. Shove in a 3060 and shave 1/2 a lb…

I bought and returned this model after 2 weeks. I tried all the battery settings and couldn't deal with the heat and the low battery life. There's one time when it lasted 5 hours and didn't get hot. I told myself that I'd keep it if I can replicate the battery life result, but instead it started running hot and the battery only averaged a little over 2 hours the rest of the way. There's probably something running in the background that kept the laptop nice and toasty. I absolutely love the aero 16s Oled screen, its build, and its speed, but the rest of the package is frankly pretty average. I'd buy it again if I don't care about the battery life and if it's closer to $1k.

There desktop and laptop cards this generation are not even remotely close. At 105w, this thing is in-between a 3050 and 3060 desktop version depending on how bad the thermal throttling is.

I have a similar spec'ed Alienware m15r7 but with 130w 3070 ti limit and 240hz 1440p screen and I'm getting a little over 2 hours...so either this battery watt hours are lower or it's just plain not optimized. Gaming laptops are meant to be plugged in =/...I hear AMD laptops are way more efficient with battery power though.
Basically likely the pixel density of the screen is the main difference. Not ever really found a laptop which is efficient while gaming one way or the other. Basically a few hours max.

How is Gigabyte support in the US? I heard it was not very good.
Horrible, I have the previous generation of the laptop, the fan started making loud crashing noise within warranty period. They wanted me to post the whole laptop to them at my cost rather than just send me a replacement fan. I just ended up buying a replacement fan for less than shipping to them would cost.

What you see as a GPU is actually a lot of supporting stuff around it like cooling, VRAM, PCB to house it all etc. The actual GPU chip is a bit bigger than a coin even I'm those bricks so with laptops it is a question of design how to fit it but not inconceivable. E.g. I thing 10x0 generation they were proud of using the same chips or something like that. That said I believe they use weaker chips in laptops these days and severely limit the power to make it possible for the laptop to cool it. E.g. I would be surprised if this laptop performed comparable to a desktop 3060.

That is proba ly why they requested the entire laptop

I've heard so many nightmare stories about NewEgg in recent years I wouldn't buy anything from them no matter the deal.
