    you dont absolutely have to use the expensive lithium AA batteries. i use the cheapest AA and get several months depending upon usage per unit.

    Thanks will have to try that. We have a key pad door lock that will kill a regular 9V in 6 weeks but will literally go 7 months with a lithium battery. Thanks for the tip will try it out for the camera.

    It basically runs of solar panel or batteries.

    IME when set to maximum sensitivity there are a lot of false triggers and the expensive batteries deplete quickly. Turn down the sensitivity one notch and far fewer (though still some) false alarms but it often doesn't trigger until motion is well underway. Haven't found a happy medium.

    Not quite true, unless I'm not understanding your comment. There is a rechargeable battery inside the solar panel unit that powers the camera. The panel charges it's internal battery which powers the camera.

    Bought this for Prime Day, and it's been working wonderfully since. Just don't be one of those dumb dumbs that leaves a bad review because they forgot to remove the battery preservation tab from the solar panel, preventing it from charging. It's kinda Blink's fault though... they didn't put much effort into pointing it out, and you have to take off the solar panel battery panel to remove it; no tab sticking out externally like other devices that does this.

    It says that for the local storage option: "Does not support live view recording" --does that mean that you will not get notifications/be able to see when and what motion is triggering the camera or just that you cannot just live stream a feed? Or something else?
