Bestbuy says "Eight Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports". But I see only 4.
In any case, it was easy enough once the manager came in and $153 plus taxes - good deal

One question I have. I have Spectrum internet 400Mbps plan. Yesteday night after I installed the router on the first floor, I went to Speed test and it was showing I was getting consistent speeds over 400 Mbps. It even produced those speeds when I was on the second floor. This morning I ran it and now I'm getting 150 Mbps. Right now I'm the only one using it in my household. Does Spectrum cap speeds?

My speedtest results from the router itself was 371.95/11.49 last night (21:01)
It's 371.57/10.95 this morning (08:09).
I heard that cable networks share bandwidth with neighbors long ago. Don't know if it's still true today.
PS: The dual core vs quad core/ram doesn't really matter for a majority of people. The main CPU/RAM only typically matters if you're enabling every possible feature on the router itself.. QoS, VPN, monitoring, AI protection etc..
Radio performance is identical outside of tolerance range. They're FCC certified with the same power output.
The only major advantage AX86U has is its 2.5G port for 1GB+ ISP and File transferring.
Edit: Subjectively this model performs better (for me) over the newer gen 2 platform GT-AX6000 I also bought to mess with last month.
Firmware is more refined, radios perform like triband variants now. (GT-AX11000/GT-AXE11000).
They didn't on AX86U @ release...
IMO in terms of value...
GT-AC2900 for 90-110 USD
AX86S for 150-180 USD on sale.
AX86U @ 220 USD (Makes sense if price difference between AX86S is big enough.. if you need 2.5G port, by all means).
These are the best 4x4 5G options that perform and punch well into price class vs competition.
I haven't had it for long but you can defeat the leds and it's been 100% stable for me, and the range boost is good enough I don't need to mess with a mesh system, which was what I was leaning towards.
I can see the missing 2.5g port as being a critical feature for some. That's the main reason this unit is cheaper.

My initial xfinity setup was never going above 50% of the plan speed and it was hell to get them to fix it.
