One question I have. I have Spectrum internet 400Mbps plan. Yesteday night after I installed the router on the first floor, I went to Speed test and it was showing I was getting consistent speeds over 400 Mbps. It even produced those speeds when I was on the second floor. This morning I ran it and now I'm getting 150 Mbps. Right now I'm the only one using it in my household. Does Spectrum cap speeds?
My initial xfinity setup was never going above 50% of the plan speed and it was hell to get them to fix it.

There's a router based speed test in the QoS tab via ASUS GUI to make sure its not your connection.
I haven't had it for long but you can defeat the leds and it's been 100% stable for me, and the range boost is good enough I don't need to mess with a mesh system, which was what I was leaning towards.
I can see the missing 2.5g port as being a critical feature for some. That's the main reason this unit is cheaper.
Number of client connections are 100% biased to the radio CPU (A7 @1.5ghz), though if you end up using SW layers, the quad core and ram will provide more oomph.
The dual core A53 in this router is stronger than the cheaper A7 based Quad core and Tri core models that use 2x2 SoCs.
Broadcom/WIFI brand marketing just sucks when it comes to presenting the correct info.

the day an Orbi deal came around I never looked back
Been running the hacked T-mobile ASUS for years… now it's MESH for AX86S running flawless.
It's how Linux handles the memory and reallocates it on the Asus, causing it to appear maxed out.
I also bought the ASUS ROG Strix AX3000, a lesser router compared to this one and the RAM max was around 55% so to me it makes no sense. Same features but less ram usage. Why is that?
