This is curved but not ultrawide, it is standard aspect ratio
Ultrawide is 21:9 or 2.39.
Take the resolution width and divide by length: 3440x1440.
I think I'm more curious about the curve. Most are around the 1500 to 1800 range, this one seems to have a rather aggressive 1000; wonder if it's too much or about right. Everything else looks really solid, but it is a VA panel for those that really are against that.
Bought this on a deal awhile ago. My biggest concern was color quality coming from a ips. In my estimation it's about 80% of the color quality of a ips so I'm satisfied.
The curve is jarring if you're coming from a flat screen, but you do adjust to it. The best way I can describe it is getting used to actually having peripheral vision.
Biggest draw back has been how many things still don't support ultra wide resolutions. A lot does now, but when you find that one game you want to play that doesn't - it sucks.
Overall, satisfied. Also no dead pixels (was shocked)
almost forgot, buy a better stand. oem one sucks

i bought the g7 a few weeks ago for $361 on amazon...wouldnt waste the money on this monitor. amazon had the g5 at $299 a couple days ago in returns. people dont realize how curved these monitors are and return them. lots of opportunities to get it cheaper.
for clarification, its a nice monitor, just pricey where its at currently.

Doesn't get bright enough at just 250nits (so not actually HDR 10 capable). Also lacking on inputs with just 1 HDMI and 1 DP. Better options with Asus and MSI at similar price point.

I bought the g7 also direct from Samsung about 3wks ago, coming from an ips 34" ultrawide 144hz. I think it's an upgrade, the g7 picture looks better and after getting use to the new aspect ratio it feels weird going back to ultra wide. The ufo test between 144 and 240hz (FPS) has a noticeable motion difference in the fine detail of the image.
