damn makes me wish i hadn't bought the 2022 model on eBay. The 6 series processor, 3070 ti and extra 512gb storage doesn't seem like much of an upgrade for an extra $300...

How's this stack up against the ASUS AMD Advantage Edition that tends to drop down to the same price?

Also how long does the battery last with light browsing?
That's the only laptop that compares to this one.

They are basically equal. Having small wins in different categories.

It's a toss up based on personal preference.

This one is probably a little better now with all the Nvidia features.

And the g15 will probably age better with 50 percent more vram and the better AMD support for older hardware and drivers and the AMD equivalents to DLSS and such that are improving.

Still a great laptop in 2022, only a few % performance difference for a huge price savings.

For those wishing to compare. I got mine.

The 6800H/RTX 3060 $1099 deal of days ago.

The 5800H/RTX 3070 $1099 deal here.

Thanks, you saved me the trouble of doing this at the site. Smilie

It looks like outside of the obvious CPU, GPU, and RAM differences I see:

1, the screen on the newer 3060 model says it has a blue light filter of some sort.

2, the battery life is listed as 9.6 hours on the 2022 model with the 3060, and only 4.7 hours on the older 2021 model with the 3070. They both have the same 80Wh battery so I'm not sure why there is such a disparity in the listed times.

Wow I like this deal. I remember the days everyone were running to different target stores to purchase the 1500$ deal on this and nobody could find it, and now I'm thinking to myself is it a good price with upcoming 4000 Nvidia graphics or not. Big Grin

So what am I "losing" for going to an AMD Ryzen? I've always used intel so, will that make any difference at all?

Pros with AMD:
-Better Battery Life can get close to double the battery life compared to Intel.
-Lower Temps.
-Less issues with thermal throttling.
-Quieter Fans as a result of lower temps.
-Virtually Identical Gaming Performance since Intel CPU's start stealing power away from the GPU at max power.
-Cheaper

Cons:
-PCIe 3.0 vs 4.0. - Read/Write speeds capped at 4000 Mbps with Gen 3 Drives compared to 7000 Mbps with Gen 4.
-No Thunderbolt support.
-Fast but not as fast as Intel with productivity applications.
-Worse Wifi Card (Ugh Mediatek) - but can easily replace with a cheap $20 Intel AX 210.

Basically for gaming and everyday use you will not notice the difference.
Now if you do productivity, video editing, etc then Intel is better, but much more expensive and I don't really find any on sale for this price.

For what it's worth, if you go to Walmart's site for this computer, the third picture down lists the values of the 2022 version (6800 vs. 5800 processor and 3070ti vs. 3070), but the manufacturer's part number (82JQ00F9US) is definitely the 2021 model. I bought one, as I think the stats for the 2021 version are excellent, and the 2022 version, as someone said, is $300 more on EBay.

Nice and $300 less than I paid at the beginning of the year. Mine came with the slower memory but the better wifi card.
Purchased extended warranty and accident coverage through the Lenovo website.
