New version is coming soon, but excellent price for the previous version. I would buy if you are looking for a primarily video focus camera. The 20MP sensor is low for today's standards.

I thought the whole issue with the R6 is overheating while shooting video.

I think that was limited to the R5. When doing 4K120fps or 8K30fps or 4K30fps in high res mode. I don't think hearing r6 at 4K60fps overheating, but I can be wrong.

Edit: it looks like there can be overheating after prolonged 4k60fps shooting. But there is a 30 minutes clip limit. Maybe new firmware makes this better.

Really with what? You mean like the R7 or R10 etc? Its my understanding that R5 is best model and below that is R6. Am I incorrect?

I was all set to get the R6m2.... Now this is $500 off.... And maybe it is better to get the older version for hobby photos? Good for having discount, but harder for the decision.... 😂

Just the r6. They bumped the sensor a bit to like 24mp, made it a bit quicker, added ai focus to make it better in AF, and made it better at taking video before thermal shutdown. So I guess the old version still have thermal issues.

There definitely was 4k video overheating issue. I bought it knowing this because I do not videos over 30 minutes and they said this would be fixed with software update.

I experience overheating on my Canon R6 only when, for some reason, I film for more than one hour when it's really really hot. If you shoot in 4k 60....I assume you're going to slow it down in post....I would try to shoot in a more "surgical" way...shorter clips that you're sure you're going to use in the final video. It doesn't matter if it's 4k 24 or 4k 60...if it's very hot the camera will eventually overheat but of course, in 4k 60 the overheating alert will appear sooner than if you shoot in 4k 24. However, to be clear, my R6 has never

R6 MK2 but it seems like a very incremental update. A few more megapixels and other refined features. You just need to look at all the updates to see if they're worth it for you. I'm refine with my R6. I might even switch down the line unless Canon opens up third party lenses but that's a whole different story.
