I was trying whole time to convince myself to get one, but I have no use for tablets, honestly My MacBook pro and iPhone does the job , maybe a good pricy option for kids

My story for anyone that cares:

Bought an iPad Air 5th Gen 64gb on sale for $500. It's got M1 under the hood as well and essentially performs the same as this pro minus a few differences that weren't a huge deal to me for the price trade off (ProMotion display, speakers, USB port speed, etc.).

I patiently waited over a month to take the Air out of the box because I wanted to see how deals played out... and after a month, I finally figured that a better deal wouldn't pop up so took it out of the box last night and set it up. OF COURSE this one goes on sale this morning, so I ran over to Target to get it.

I'm a photographer and planning to use this as a second monitor via SideCar, editor for keynote presentations, note taking device, and for music control in my studio.

Upgraded from 64gb to 128gb and gained the upgrades mentioned before for just $50 more... Great deal. Thanks again for sharing.

Kind of in the same boat. Recently ordered a iPad Air (5th gen) for 650 (Amazon). Just ordered this (Pro 3rd gen) for 650. Think I'll end up keeping the Pro for the slightly better display, speakers, faceid

For a $150 difference I'd probably stick with the Air you bought depending on your usage for it. I was in the same boat with an Air 5th Gen but didn't have a military discount so the price difference was only $50 to upgrade to this Pro deal. Unless you really need ProMotion or the extra storage, I would probably hang onto the one you already bought... it's a steal.

I got the Walmart $349 iPad Air 64gb. Needed more space so I jumped up to this pro 128gb (I know I should have gotten more space, but need to save money for buying others' Christmas gifts)

Just go to the store and pick it up to be sure-- I placed an online order for pickup as a "reservation" and immediately went to the store. The order wasn't ready yet, but I grabbed another one, checked out, and then canceled my pickup order.

Dang it, if only I hadn't bought the staples one for $599!

Gonna order this one for pickup and try to return the staples one! If I can great, if not I'll let the target one go and donate the $50 extra dollars to staples I guess haha

With so many cheap cloud storage options, more on board storage is pretty unnecessary, imo.

The Pro has LIDAR. I use Ghostube SLS to pick up stick figures (ghosts) that the Air isn't capable of.
