This isn't a deal. Too many shills plaguing SD and trying to tempt. Should be renamed as Shill Deals?
Youre right. I'm going to cancel my order and buy one at full price for $200 more.

Comparison tool doesn't give a weighting to these important differences (I have had Airs and have M1 11" and 12.9"), where the M1 iPad Pro pulls ahead:
  • FaceID
  • Better screen due to TruMotion
  • Better speakers
  • Ultra wide lens/LIDAR
And add in the other stuff

Extra 64 gb storage base
Thunderbolt USB port
Better audio recording for video

$399 for the M1 iPad Air is nothing to sneeze at of course and would be a comparable value but all these extras (storage, ProMotion, Thunderbolt, FaceID) is well worth another $150

I agree there does not seem to be a big difference. I got the 64 gb Air 5th gen from the $350 Walmart deal. Having a tough time justifying the extra $200 for the M1 and a bit more storage.
I did the switch. So far I like the pro screen better and the physical handling. Idk why the air edges hurt.

Oh yeah, forgot about storage. Although I never use a lot of GB, a little extra cushion (without paying that Apple 'tax') is always nice too have.

Pretty good deal for 11 inch but 12.9 inch has a micro led screen with better black levels. I much prefer that screen

*miniLED .. apple does not use micro LED

microLED is much better and more expensive

I have both a miniLED ipad and a regular.. when using in actual real world stuff.. it doesn't matter.. both are great screens. tbh.. the MINI led is actually more annoying when watching certain dark content due to bloom. But most content doesn't suffer too badly. I can't remember what it was.. but it was a show and there was a dark scene and the mini LED completely ruined it because it was blooming so badly I couldn't make out the areas of the scene that had more brightness. But most of the time, if you're not watching dark content, the mini led does look very nice. "black levels" are only good if the content isn't completely ruined by the bloom

Is it worth it to get the warranty
AppleCare is worth it if you plan on taking it out of the house. One drop pays for itself.
