I got this card a couple days ago and so far I've been very happy with it. Has been had for a bit lower, but still a decent price I think and is in stock for shipping. Plus you have until Jan 14 to return if you find a better deal.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Only the high end is launching for team red with team green having just done so. This is mid range and there's no Indication of seeing the next gen mid range before February/March by either manufacturer. Prices could continue to fall, but not because of pressure by their replacements because that's months away.
This will crush anything at 1440p, right?
People who are on the perpetual "prices will drop when X releases in a few months" PC component train don't seem to have been around for very many PC component release cycles. The 6650, 6700 and 6800XT are great values at their performance tiers. Happens every cycle yet there's a group of people who always preach waiting to buy. We probably won't see huge drops until the midrange drops next year and even then these cards will still be in demand since they are good values.

This is now available on Amazon (shipped and sold by them) for also $359 and includes the 2 games. I've been eyeing GPUs and don't recall seeing any 3060s or 3070s on sale during BF or Cyber Monday, so I might finally be IF1 on team red.

Looks like Dead Island 2 and The Calisto Protocol are the free games.

I was kinda hoping for a can't miss deal on the 6800XT, but settled on this. Coming from a Vega 64 the SOUND difference was the first thing I noticed. Having the blower fan on constantly was the norm...now with zero fan it's night/day. Perfomance in current games wasn't mind blowingly smoother but I was noticing a 30-40 fps increase, so on paper the performance was there. For anyone who upgrades...make sure you clear out all your prior drivers with DDU (I only just uninstalled and used the AMD clean up tool - that's not enought). I was doing the stress test and had a couple of black screens until I cleaned it and re-installed drivers. But was able to successfully run the stress test after this.

I upgraded to a 3080ti 5 months ago (from 1070ti) but was tired of the heat so I sold it for a bit less than what I paid.

How does this 6700xt compare? More like a 3070?

It's great to hear from someone using it other than gaming. The Logical Increments guide to video editing [logicalincrements.com] recommends a 5700XT for a Professional build or a 3060Ti for DaVinci Resolve.

HOWEVER, I understand that is only true if you're using the paid ($299) version of Resolve, and not the free one. Reference: https://beginnersapproach.com/dav...eleration/

Do you have the free version?
I have the paid version of Da Vinci Studio. It was a big difference with the paid version with my previous AMD 5500XT graphics card. Going to the 6700XT made it a lot better with the editing. I can jump around clips without it stuttering and lagging. Fusion compositions still seems quite sluggish from the various templates I downloaded. I'm an amateur video editor and trying to get better by having the right setup. If something is too frustrating to use, its easy to give up on it. Hence why I am considering getting the 4090 but not considering it at full retail for now ...

I think NVIDIA will drop like a rock soon. AMD is making a tons of sales clearing out their inventory. I don't see how anyone would be buying NVIDIA graphics card at their current pricing.

From what's been happening this holiday season, I have a feeling Nvidia will soon lower previous series cards to compete with the new AMD series soon to launch.

First, I do agree with prices probably continuing down, but there's still part of me that's thinking, how much cheaper can it get? If anything was proven over the last three years, nothing is for sure. This could be a low point if supply shortages come back.
I've been buying computer hardware for more than 20 years, and I'm here to tell you: "prices" will always come down, yet the sticker price will always be higher than it was last time. When I was a kid, an upper-mid-range processor was $125, and a solid gaming card was $150. Prices have been "falling" ever since.

Worrying about overspending by a hundred bucks on a tech purchase is folly, especially since a video card you buy today will probably be in your backup system in 2040. We're already really close to "I can render photorealistic action games in real-time for my entire field of vision."

I just don't feel like chancing it anymore. They're in stock. Having a graphics card on the fritz when they're not in stock will send you to an early grave.

I've got free version of DaVinci Resolve with 5900x CPU and 1660 Super GPU.

I just ran some tests. For a sample 2m 25s video with 25 clips, I tried a couple renders:

H265 [max] uses 60% CPU, and 55% GPU video encode, takes 1m 42s
H264 [max] uses 100% CPU and 0% GPU video encode, takes 2m 48s

So it would seem they're right that DaVinci free doesn't use my GPU much.. at least not enough to max it out. Playing around in the Edit module doesn't use it much either, though I do see some stuttering. Paying for the Studio version would be a different story.

eVGA B-stock [evga.com] (refurb) currently has a GeForce RTX 3070 FTW3 ULTRA for $420 with free shipping. That's a steal.. but it seems like with my workflow, my GPU isn't slowing me down. BestBuy also has the 3060Ti for $399 [bestbuy.com] which is a solid choice. (Again, 3060Ti is the LogicalIncrements [logicalincrements.com] choice for Professional Video Editing PC with DaVinci Resolve.)
